Haha!! It was me, but I wasn't VR600, then. We were in making jig mode, so the car was missing parts and had a crap tune on it. I was jumping him everytime but he would start to walk no matter what. Again, he has the smaller EVO pulley so that makes some sense to me now. I've had cooling / headers / tune done since and it feels better but I still wonder if the added heat is an issue....

That 1.61 60ft time, only to have the car not shift or to let off , its going to click and when it does I m thinking 10.79-10.83. And yes 130 will be obtained.

I envy you, your ability to press on, adapt and keep your goals in focus despite a large negative contingent, awesome stuff bro.

Maybe Rick will take me to MIR !!
You said it...the ever so elusive clean run, I agree that the 2:10pm 11.05 pass should have been an 10.80 or quicker pass, but until it happens it's just an 11.0 car. I am happy to hear that you were there standing next to my buddy Rich and heard the car not up-shift and me having to let up to trick the car into upshifting, you have a lot of credibilty on this board so now maybe people will believe you, they never believe me. I'm not sure if you have had a chance to study my slips, but my best pass of the day was an 11.04 but that pass had one of my worst 60's of the day on that pass, a 1.71, most of the day I was putting down 1.61-1.65 60's. Oh well, there's always next month.

I am starting to wonder how much my trans, rear-end and axles can take, I made 13 passes on Saturday spraying right out of the hole on at least half of those passes, a 1.6 60' must be putting enourmous strain on my drivetrain, but the car just seems to be laughing it off...keeping my fingers crossed

Been following these threads and have been wondering the same thing. Just how tough are the driveline parts in these cars...? In the Offroad world I play in, I've blown up several engines, 1 tranny, 2 transfer cases, multiple CV joints, multiple u-joint yokes, driveshaft slip splines, 2 rear axles, 3 front axles, too many locking hubs to count, leafsprings, steering boxes, several ring gears, several pinion gears, sheered axle shaft splines, etc. mostly due to high torque engines turning big tires... Eventually, something on your car will give up due to the abuse...

Your starting to sound like a negative nancy.. These are toys, and toys are ment to be played with. Right? Right! Drag racing on sat afternoon is not like racing trophy trucks and taking jumps all day long.

Eventually something will break? Yea like records! Its easy to talk from the sidelines.. Try getting on that horse. I will tell you this. If you get on.. You best know how to ride it.

Rick and Bryce, that race was one of the best and funniest ones I have witnessed in a long time...... lets do it again

How much HP do most of those E55 AMGs make that run mid-high 11's at 122-124mph? I am assuming a stock one runs about 114-115mph, so about 100HP more than stocK? Is that what a VR600 package is? About 600HP? And what would the WHP be on the stock/modified cars?

I think most 600 package cars are capable of running low to mid 11's and 550 should be mid to high 11's. In the right conditions I believe my car has a 11.3 or so, thinking is one thing but doing is another. BTW...I haved VR600 package.

So is the VR600 package 600 crank horsepower?

Also, good thing I didn't drive to Sacramento this morning, the recording said test and tune was cancelled due to rain. Next weekend is supposed to be beautiful, just wish it was a little cooler than 59F, and the weekend after its cool again, but rain is in the forecast for that Saturday.

510-520whp for about 122 trap speeds. 540whp is my guess for 124mph trap speeds in a e55.

my stock trap speed for the day was 116-118mph

100hp more then stock sounds about right.

not sure about the last question but, stock e55 dyno at 410-430whp. I think octane plays a big roll.

I was really curious what the V12 TT would run. Any SL600s/SL65s ever go to these events? How do they compare to the modded E55s, SL55s?

Don't worry man, The first time out to Famosa we broke the CLS records with a stock tune, The second time out we broke our records agian on a 91 octane tune and the nos was not working right. Next up is the 100 octane tune and the NOS is 100% dialed in now So more records will be beat You see, not just SHOW,, BUT GO TOO
The Beast has a lot more in it as you will see the next time out.
Josh thanks for the tips on dragging My 60's are getting low and my RT are insane now, You da man Bro...

Just as reference. Last time I dyno'd my car it made over 100whp less than what you make and my car probably weighs no more than a few hundred pounds less than yours and traps higher than your N/A. Maybe the dyno just reads REALLY low

I would say your dyno does read very low, every stock Black Series baseline dyno figures I have seen have been between 415-425. For the record I have trapped as high as 126 N/A but that was obviously a pass where I spun up the tires, bad 60', high trap. Even Johns (ET55) trap speed are in the 122-123 range and his car has similar mods and similar dyno numbers to my car.

I'm not disputing your claims. Just wondering why my car puts down so much less power than yours. Maybe I should try a different dyno

Ahmad, I think yours and my thoughts on dyno numbers are the same, we only use them as a guide when gauging improvments with different mods. A dyno sheet does not mean squat in the real world, time slips tell the real story. I would maybe try a different dyno just to see what they come up with, but I would continue to keep going back to your old dyno shop whenever adding a mod, that is the only real accurate way to monitor any improvments. I would think that your car would be putting up numbers closer to 500, but who knows? What is the exact weight of your car?

I agree 100%. Not sure on the exact weight. If I were to guess it would be 3650+ with me in it. I will ask them to turn on the scales at MIR next time
