Warranty for 2003 E55
I've got a 2003 E55 that I bought at the end of November w/ 31k miles on it. It now has 33.5k miles on it and I'm interested in getting an extended warranty for it. There is no factory warranty left and I don't have any clue as to when it would have expired.
Is there anyone in a similar situation that was able to get warranty coverage at a reasonable cost? I seem to keep running into dead ends. Most either don't insure the AMG line, don't insure in California or just tell me the car is not new enough to be warrantied. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

2004 MB E55
I was in that situation earlier this year, but was able to purchase an aftermarket warranty through a local dealership. The warranty is through Western General, I paid around $3500 for 3 yr/ (up to) 100k mi. with $0 deductable. It sounds expensive but trust me you need it. Its already paid for itself.

I assume that is not the Maximum Care Plan, correct? Because I called today and here was what I was quoted for the Maximum Care Plan over 2-3 years with various deductibles:
2yr / 30,000 miles = $2,059 ($100 deductible)
2yr / 30,000 miles = $1,705 ($200 deductible)
3yr / 45,000 miles = $2,600 ($100 deductible)
3yr / 45,000 miles = $2,282 ($200 deductible)

With such low miles and being as clean as it is, I would think they'd be crazy not to warranty it! I really just want it for piece of mind. The car runs flawlessly right now with zero problems but you know how it goes, a little

These prices all actually seem a bit high...I had someone from Chrysler warranty call me on the first part of december because I had done an inquiry on their site. They quoted me just over $1500 for a 5 year warranty or up to 100,000 total miles (if i remember correctly) but I told them I would let them know as I had gotten zero price quotes from anywhere else and didn't know if that was a good deal or not. Looking back, I should have pulled the trigger right there on the spot. Just wanted to do my research in advance but now it has bit me in the ***. I think now that it's 09, they will not warranty my car at all...![smash](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smashfreak.gif)

4 wheeled car.
Problem with the 03 E55 is that because of the year, a lot of companies won't touch it. In my case, I have 55K miles on my 03 and nobody offers **** for it. Anyone know of any company that will offere coverage?

By the way, I also called a local dealership about the Jim Moran & Associates plans. Here are the rates for their top-of-line "Platinum Plan":
2yr / 24,000 miles = $2,329 ($100 deductible)
3yr / 36,000 miles = $2,718 ($100 deductible) [0% for 18 months]
4yr / 48,000 miles = $3,213 ($100 deductible) [0% for 18 months]

By the way, if others would like to suggest names of warranty companies that potentially cover AMGs, I will be happy to call those companies and report back here in coming days as I get quotes. I plan on calling Western General and a few others tomorrow.

Chrysler Service Contracts
For those of you getting quotes on a Chrysler Service Contract, are you going to Chrysler directly for a quote? A few months ago I was shopping for a warranty for my '05 with just under 49K miles & several folks on this board recommended a Chrysler Service Contract. I got several quotes for the Maximum Care plan, 5yrs/50K additional miles, and all were above $2,500. However, in December, many of the third-party resellers of these contracts disappeared & I ended up speaking to the folks at Chrysler directly.
For the same coverage & term, I bought a warranty for around $1,750 & they also financed it, interest free, for one year.
Also, I before my purchase, I spoke to my service advisor at my MB dealer & he reviewed the warranty & confirmed that it was a plan that would be accepted by the MB service department.
I would suggest that you go to servicecontracts.chrysler.com & contact someone there about a quote & also speak to your service advisor at your MB dealer about whether they'll accept this warranty. Initially, the folks at Chrysler Service Contracts were unsure if they could offer coverage & also if I would be able to take the car anywhere besides a Chrysler dealership, but after they researched it, neither turned out to be an issue.

There is also the CPO option, but that is generally only available when purchasing the car from a dealer. These are cheaper (up to 50%) than the ELW option, but are a bit more limited in scope relative to the original warranty.
Other than that, it's all aftermarket, third-party warranties. I'm currently trying to get a sense of what's out there, how accomodating they are, what the process is for filing claims, what is covered and if they're likely to be around as the economic condition deteriorates. That last consideration is my greatest concern.

The car has factory coverage until 04/10 with another year of CPO until 04/11...Since it's an 06,i will have an option to get an Easy care extended warranty from my local mercedes dealership for $3400 for another 4/48,000 good until 04/15

04 - 06 e55 Wagon - looking for
The MBZ dealers I have spoken to say that MBZ extended warranty limit is seven years or 100K miles which ever comes first. Any coverage above 7 yrs and over 100K will need to be aftermarket third party.
I was quoted the following from a MBZ dealer when looking to purchase an 05 CPO earlier in the year.
In service Date: 6/05
Mfg Warranty Ends 6/09
CPO adds one year: extended to 6/10
Option to purchase 1yr/2yr warranty: $2395/$3995 ----- to 6/11 or 6/12
Basically MSRP of $3995 to extend warranty an extra two years only AFTER CPO warranty runs out - approx 2K per year which is the upfront cost. No deductible. I'm sure price will increase down the road and one can always negotiate price on warranty.
Good Luck.

It is, but it has some limitations relative to the ELW (original) extension. That is why the ELW costs more. This info is from the Dealer and MBUSA.
