E63 WHP Gains From An ECU Tune
Does anyone know the average gains from an ecu tune on an E63 as well as the costs? I can't seem to find any real answers, just people saying how the C63 is so great to tune. Thanks.

63s are 63s as far the engine is concerned. C63s are further detuned from the factory than Es which explains the difference in power. Also C63s have a 2.5" exhaust from the manifolds back vs 2.75" for the other 63s.
We'll have E63 results when Jeff gets his car back from the shop for our ECU/TCU tuning (1-2 weeks I think) but otherwise I'd expect to make the same type of power/tq (slightly higher due to the larger dia exhaust) that a C63 does post tune.

On average, stock E63s seem to dyno between 410 to 415 hp in 4th gear (take away 10 whp if dynoing in 5th gear). Conservatively speaking, an ECU should give you at least 20 whp gain, which puts you at around 430 to 435 whp.

Results I have seen on the E63 are ranging betweed 30 and 35 rwhp at the dyno. depends on which tune you use. E63 comes with a higher hp rating stock than the C63. We gained 55rwhp on our C63 the higher power gain on the C63 is only because of what MHP said.

Yeah I should be able to provide some results. Unfortunatly my car is in the body shop another two weeks. I am also throwing on some lighter weight wheels. So gains should be significant. Shall see...

The R888's were fantastic. I really enjoyed riding on them all summer. great on the street and track. Rain became a little of an issue as the tread on the tire got short, but you would be suprised during the first 50% of the life of those tires because of the little tread it had , suprisingly it was fairly good in the rain.
I custom ordered some 19" for my car recently so not sure if I will be able to run R888's on these or not, but plan to run something like it again this summer. if my wheels hadnt of dissappeared I was planning on throwing a new set of R888's on the car in February for the 3/1 MIR event.
The only negative I found running those tires was they tend to be a tad noisey on the street. If you can deal with mild-moderate tire noise when at 40+ mph you will be very happy with the R888's

2009 C63 Black on Black
Thanks!!!!!
Actually no. I was using them until middle of december and threw on some new all season rubber. Bummer was 3 days after putting new rubber on my stock rims they were stolen while in the dealers lot. The only real problem with running R88's in the winter month is the R compound the tire using doesnt react well to temps below freezing. Rubber hardens up and doesnt provide very good traction since the pavement is frozen. If you live in an area that isnt affected much by winter I would drive those tires all year round!

Thanks for the great info. I'm gonna go with the R888's.
In California with our dry warmer weather it really makes sense to go with the R888's
The little beast "Mini63" just spins the wheels from a dig (just like the 55)

somethings better left unsaid ...
So if two identical cars were 20 rwhp away from each other, will it show in a traffic light to traffic light jump ?
