Bicycle in Trunk

I'm a long time lurker and will be purchasing a 2005 E55 in the next few months. My question, after coming up empty searching the archives, is will a road bicycle with the front tire taken off fit in the trunk of an 2005 E55? I know that split seats are not offered in any AMG model but wonder if the trunk is big enough to accommodate a bike. Thanks in advance.

If you forgot to mention that it's a child-sized road bike, then yes, you should be OK, otherwise I think you're probably out of luck. Although the trunk is pretty large for a midsize car, at a minimum it will require both tires off and even then I would guess no.

Sorry, it is an adult bike, say a 54" frame. So I guess it won't fit? Any cyclists out there that have tried it before?

You'd need folding rears

And folding rears aren't any option on the E55, correct?

Someone here will know but I would have thought split folding rear seats WERE an option. They are on M-cars. I've not checked the S but will do when I'm out of work.

Thanks - I'm coming from a 335 and the rear fold down seats have been a great option to transport larger items, especially a bike, while having the ability to keep them out of site and locked.

Not sure whether the E55 comes with split fold down seats. The E63 did. I'm a roadie as well and needed the xtra space which is why I bought the 63er. If the 55er does not have fold downs, you'll have to take the front and rear off. With fold down, front alone will do.

Regards and good luck with the Beast!!

take front and rear tires off and it will fit no problem. I fit a 19" frame mountain bike in the trunk of my car when I HAVE to, not my favorite thing to do but it fits.

My 63 fit a XL Scott Sporster P5 front wheel off and rear seats folded down.

I don't see why it wouldn't fit w/the wheel off?
