Back in Novemeber I decided to have something custom and unique made for me, and sent out my brand new Arai GP5-W helmet out to get painted. I showed him a few helmets I liked, and I decided to go for a bit of a DTM theme, so I had him add a DTM/Nurburgring logo on the back and also list the track names from the series. I also went with the chrome base which really makes the blue pop, and the black in a matte finish. Lastly, I requested an AMG logo to be added across the visor for the finishing touch

I don't have the helmet in my hands yet, but he sent me these pictures. Judging by the photos, I got exactly what I asked for! Can't wait to take this out on the track.

I sent out my helmet to Censport Graphics, www.censportgfx.com. You can take a look at his gallery, and as you can see he is very talented. This paint job was around $1600, including the Blue speedshield visor. Helmet was another $800. Keep in mind I basically went all out on this paint job. Chrome base, matte finish on the black, etc. all add quite a bit to the cost. Not cheap, but I basically view this as a custom piece of art. Will look great sitting on a shelf or desk somewhere.

The paint chrome is pretty tricky... my paint guy spent a lot of money on the system and for a very long time was having problems with the chrome turning yellow.... but he sorted it out and what he can do now looks stunning....

Helmet looks good man!!!

He did this for me about 4 years ago before realistic flames became popular....
