I don't know the exact location but I'll find out tomorrow morning. It's about 5 miles from the track. BTW hammer they sell 100 octane and last time it was $7.50

Just had a light sprinkle and now it's somewhat overcast but not bad, keeping my fingers crossed!

Hi Guys,
I'm not going to be able to make it today due to some unforeseen problems in LA. I ended up leaving LA 3am this morning and just got home. I should'be been home early evening last night but it just didn't happen. I hope you guys have a good time and once again I really apologize. As of now I can't even keep my eyes open...sorry for being a flake.

well it was a disappointing day as far as I was concerned. Although the weather was really (maybe to nice to be at a drag strip) but it was great meeting guys that showed up. (jesse) SLK55 your car just sounds amazing everytime I hear it. I ran a bunch of 12.3x @ 116.5-116.7 but I couldn't hook up to save my life today. I tried Sport mode, 2nd starts, suspension on softest setting, M mode, tires down to 25psi,rolling into the throttle only to be backed down by my flashing yellow triangle, I tried off idle and I even tried power braking release the break and let the car roll then roll into the gas and EVERYTIME I LOST TRACTION! and the ECU said WHOA!!!!!
One way to look at it I guess is that considering the ECU cutting in and no traction I guess my times were ok. It would have been nice if the sun didn't come out today.
I guess 11's will have to wait for another day because today just aint the day!

Sorry to hear the traction was not all that great, but I'm still a little confused on what exactly went wrong
You guys said it was sunny all day, the track was dry, DA was very good, prep was okay, then what killed the traction? Was there any moisture on the launching pads? Did they not prep it right? Did you guys do good burnouts?
Hammer, your car is incredible With 2.0 to 2.2 60' times, you still managed 12.30s

FUN
was great to see some old faces as well as new today.
The weather was fantastic and for me the track prep was okay. I was running 245/40 18 MT ET street radials and was still losing traction a bit. I was getting decent launches but I need to still get used to the drag radials breaking loose and waiting for them to grip.
With 1st gear I was running pretty steady 12.0s.
My best time was a 2nd gear start at 14:17 :
Right Lane
Reaction 0.163
I1 was 1.754
I2 was 4.939
I3 was 7.634
I3 MPH 92.147
I4 was 9.913
ET was 11.846
MPH was 116.705
I'm still getting a bit of slow shift from 2nd to 3rd right now and was slipping a little at the top end of 2nd. I think this is costing me a couple tenths by itself.

That was a ton of fun!!!! Got to met Hammer, Balzy, Greek, Jessie etc. For the first time out.. and only having this car for three weeks... I thought it went well... best e.t. was a 12.503 and best mph was 115.3....best 60 foot was 2.17. Very cool seeing all the benz's out there... we made up the largest group....
Look forward to doing that again... and now I have a baseline for mods... first up... K & N filters... I'll order those next week...

First gear launch is much more potent and efficient when racing than 2nd gear...... I'm pretty sure that with good traction and a decent launch in 1st gear, your car should be in mid 11s

Well it was fun today guys. The weather was great, it was good to actually meet some of the guys on here. The traction wasn't all that great, but I didn't do so bad, I've had a lot worst, I guess I ran steady 12.4s, with the exception of three 12.3s, my best was 12.32, I1 was 1.79, I hope we can do this again soon, with more people showing up.
