The SL65 Black Series-0-100 7.6 0-140 15.0 1/4 11.7 @ 126 rolling 5-60 4.0 30-50 2.0 50-70 1.9

Dodge Viper SRT10-0-100 7.8 0-140 14.2 1/4 11.8 @ 128 rolling 5-60 3.7 30-50 10.5 50-70 9.8

Lambo Murci LP640-0-100 7.5 0-140 14.0 1/4 11.5 @ 127 rolling 5-60 4.0 30-50 4.3 50-70 5.2

Corvette ZR1-0-100 7.8 0-140 14.0 1/4 11.7 @ 127 rolling 5-60 3.9 30-50 6.3 50-70 5.3

Looks like from a roll 30-50mph & 50-70mph the 65 Black is devastating or am I reading the #'s incorrectly? the 65 must be traction limited on there 0-140 it's a FULL second slower than nearly ALL the others yet equal & FASTER in 0-100 And equal or VERY CLOSE in 1/4 mile & trap speeds What the hell is up w/Car&Driver's testing equipment?

Edit: Took a snap shot of mag stats

Its because the BS is an auto and the others are all manuals and are left in the highest gear. The tests in red are top gear tests. I never understood these types of comparos with C&D.

+1 on the comparo's but the Lambo is listed as 6-speed Auto/Manual

I'd ignore that article all together if the best they could get out of a ZR1 was 11.7 in the 1/4.

Near 10 seconds for the Viper to get from 50-70? WTF? Was there some Civic WOT the opposite way attached to the Viper during that roll?

It's what Vic55 said: C&D puts the car in top gear and hits the accelerator. Automatics will down-shift but a manual tranny car will just lug along in high gear. A pointless test....

W/testing procedures like this = ZERO validity on the comparo section thanks for the concise description...

I still am scratching my head on the Murci w/Auto E-gear 6 speed, it's slower than the 65 BS 30-50 by 2.3 seconds & 50-70 by 3.3 seconds..

All of those cars are awesome. I read mine today. They did a good job on the article. Basically, the ZR1 owned all around. It's an incredible car for the money.

If I had the means I wouldn't even think twice, SL65 Black Series all the way! I know the Vette is a bargain & you could by (2) of them at the SL's $304k price tag w/dealer mark-up the ZR1 will be fetching $150k

Oh I agree 100%! I would have to win the lottery to have a SL65 though. The Zr1 is attainable to me
