launching in the cold

is there anything i can do to launch better in the cold?

a bunch of us sometimes meet up at night on a short empty stretch of road (runs are less than 1/4 mile) to do some runs from a dig. the temps right now are around 32F to 34F at night.

anyways i cant seem to get traction at all on these stock re050a tires.
ive tried the launch techniques stickied above and i know i still need to work on it but its so hard to get going. all i see is that flashing yellow light because the traction control is always kicking in.

this makes it impossible for me to have a chance at beating my friends gtr. (he doesnt use his LC) once he shoots out i cant really gain on him but i dont think he is really pulling away once i can go full throttle. its too late by then though. maybe if we had a lot of room i could pull at higher speeds but i wont be able to find out till we do some hwy roll ons.

one time he had a bad launch and it seemed to be a close race. my front end was right behind his front tires until we had to shut it down.

anyways my mods right now are kleeman k2 (tuning for it will be done this coming week so still have the k1 flash), sprint booster and vrp cf box and airtubes.

so does anyone have any tips or advice for me or do i just have to wait for warmer weather when the tires will be stickier. id rather not have to do a burnout.

Heat your tires with a burnout (I know you want to skip that) and get rid of the sprint booster. You can't modulate the throttle with the sprint booster

you will not be able to launch a k2 on normal roads, prety simple too much torq

you will have to modulate throttel and maybe shift early in first geat

first gear full throttel = make sure you are in a middle lane if you want to test around....because you will go side ways..alot!

its frustrating to have all this hp and tq and not be able to put it down when u need it hehe
ill take the sprint booster out and give it a go.
does the sprint booster make it impossible to modulate the throttle for a good launch or does it just make it very difficult to do so?

hehe sideways or the flashing yellow light with a little sideways action!

Blueknight and I were at the track a few weeks ago and he was trying all day to get into the 11's. Towards the very end I made a suggestion to take out the SB and make a few runs. After taking it out he did a ECU reset and presto...11.8. He was having traction issues all day and on the very last run of the day, after taking out the SB he had his best 60' time by far.

haters crazy
SB makes the pdeal to sensitive and very difficult to modulate the pedal. Get a Quaife LSD and some better tires.
