1. It seems the headlights are always in AUTO mode (all day long).... even when I switch to O (off) they remain on in broad daylight....
Old E55 never did this-

2. I know all the 55's front floormats said AMG vertically in White, does everyone's 63 say "Mercedes Benz" w/ Star HORIZONTALLY ??
I have seen 63s w/ both sets-

3. Trying to jog my memory, does every 63's driver mirror have a tinted coating except on edges?

No, mine does not do this. If it's on "Auto", then lights will turn on at night and off in the day time. And if it's on off, it will not come on at all.

Mine has ////AMG on them.

Mine and three others I've seen had them, but I'm not sure if all of them have them.

Check settings menu. Maybe you have daytime driving lights set on?

1. I think you can turn off that option. I recall going into memory options for wiper control and seating, as well as headlights. You should be able to turn this function. My car came with it going all the time too. I did manage to disable that option.

2. All AMG's should come with AMG floor mats. it is possible the dealer never gave them to you. If you bought it used they probably just gave you whatever was there. I am on my 3rd AMG. Each one bought new and each time has had the AMG mats.

3. Yeah I think so. Again all the ones I have had have all had that.

If it's a Canadian car, daytime running lights are always on...it's the law.

Me as well, the thing is- a 2009 e63 (brand new that I looked at many times) at my local dealership has Mercedes Benz written horizontally on the mat (no AMG) -- that confused me.... I have also seen a used 2007 w the same mats ?

I have just looked at ebay for many close pictures, and every single 2007 e63 they have listed, that has floormats pictured, say Mercedes Benz and not ///// AMG.......
Not a huge deal but odd nonetheles.....


Second Edit-
I have now found one 2008 e63 w AMG vertically (sideways--like all the E55's mats and like another 2007 e63 I looked at recently in person)
..... and I have found one 2008 w AMG horizontally

I have never heard of a dealer not including those with the car. Sounds like they are being cheap and trying to get you to by them. All 3 of my AMG's came with them.

Actually, here in california, there are a few dealers who are notorious about NOT including the AMG floormats with the car

yeah my car came with standard "mercedes" mats.. booooooo, my prior E55 had AMG mats
