Photoshopped E55: Where I can I find these style wheels?

Made a photoshop rendering of a wheel from Morr Alloy on an e55, I contacted Morr Alloy and they said they couldn't make this forged wheel because there was a problem with their tooling making the offsets and such work for an e55. So is there any other wheels available for the e55 that share this concaved, no lip mesh look?

It's not just that, personally I think the HRE's are way too expensive. Might pick up a set later down the road used or something. Plus I prefer the look of a BMW CSL wheel over the M40 design. Not too much different but a slightly different mesh design.

true... Im with you on the price !!

There is a difference in design from the BMW monoblocks and the Benz due to weight load…. the BMWs can’t withstand the weight of a Mercedes-Benz

E55's don't have a huge market on wheels b/c of such strict demands and detentions on wheel design and load

Agree with this post 100%. It is practically impossible to have a set of wheels that nobody else has. Yes you can make subtle changes but the baseline is still there.

Back to your question:

Your photoshop looks more toward the Neez QD7 wheel than the M40 as Sun (Benzoboi) offered up too. But since you feel HRE is too expensive, you will run from the QD7. I have had 6 sets of HRE's and about to hit set 7- you get what you pay for especially in wheels and quality. Yes, there are cheaper and heavier- its all up to you but most members here, upgrade when they change from the stock wheels. Not just for looks but for quality, weight savings, and one thing I personally know about HRE- great service. Another thing to remember is that HRE prices posted on the web by its retailers are just that, retail price but nobody pays retail for them. Call Peter at Wheelexperts- you will get a smoking deal. But I can understand your points too about price, remember I am biased owning so many sets in the past and currently.

Here are a few QD7 shots and my opinion they are more concave than the HRE's for Benzes that is:

Im gunna tell you right now.... I looked and looked and looked some more for a concave monoblock for about 4 months that resembled the depth of what I was seeing on BMWs…. Put it this way… its not going to happen. The combination of AMG Big Break kit, Mercedes weight, and unique offset on the E55 or lack there of… Mercedes dose not give us enough room for an aggressive concave wheel otherwise it would stick out A LOT form the wheel well. As for right now… the HREs are about it…. And personally the HREs didn’t have enough of a concave look for me to drop that kind of cash.

Even thought the future of wheels are moving in the direction of monoblocks, I don’t see it happening with the E55s.

Also have been toying the idea of BBS CH's. They aren't even listed on tire rack for the w211 so I might have to play with the offset a bit, but you can't go wrong with a BBS wheel and i've yet to see any pictures with an e55 amg with a set of CH's on. Definitely looks hot too.

CH's are good, I had them on my S4 but no concaveness (is that a word?)

I know same here, the look is really growing on me, however I don't even think they make that wheel in our correct offsets?

03' E55 Techtite Grey
I noticed you guys were photoshopping some wheels here. Is there anyway someone could help me out and put a set of Gunmetal/Grey Volk TE37 on an E55, possibly Techtite Grey? We were talking about it on a different thread and I was reading this one and saw you guys knew how to do this.

mono

so i came across these wheels in another forum- they are from a company forgestar- the are flow casted which makes them much lighter than cast wheels, the 19x11 weighs 25 pounds- I am waiting for them to make the 20 wheels

I think the HRE monoblocs are around the same weight

The wheels are custom also, so you can choose offsets- plus they are really cheap- on special right now for 1400 shipped

The HRE Monos for the Benz vehicles weigh more. I spoke with Guy Atherton, the Production Manager there and he told me that they engineered the Benz Monobloks to tolerate more abuse. IE potholes, bumps, undulations etc. The initial theory per Guy was that the Benz Monos were to be sold more thru the dealer network and based on their research the clientele at Benz dealerships dont watch the roads that well versus your typical Porsche customer. So based on that, the molds for the Benz formats are stonger and heavier coming in around 28lbs I believe.

My PCar monos weight 21 lbs in the front (19x8.5) and 24 lbs in the rear (19x11).

I think if you go wide enough CH's can have some " concaveness "

What about BBS LMs like you had on the M3 in your sig? Flip through the e 55 photo section and you'll find an e55 with LMs.
