Quote: Good question, but the answer was already discussed somewhere in the 8+ pages...... The E55 market is much larger considering the car has been out for 7 to 8 years. The E63 has only been out for 2 years, so there is a lot fewer of them running around, which means much less demand for a diffuser. Almost no company wants to touch the project given the low demand. For example, they were able to pre-sell 17+ E55 diffusers first time around, and will probably sell another 10 to 15 on the second round. Similarly, if we (the E63 crowd) can get 20 people to order the diffuser, our price would easily be $499, but in reality we're having trouble keeping 5 orders
Got it, Thanks. I just thought that there is something unique with e63 one, I just placed an order for e55 one, hopefully I will get it soon

What is the typical install cost for diffuser? What about painting the diffuser / cost? Any recommendations on a good installer in LA?

Its very easy to do yourself. However, I being you are in LA, I will be able to dig up some good installers for you. LA has lots of good shops.

Since we have just one more to go, if we don't get another person by next Friday are the other people willing to put an an extra $112.50 ($900/8) to get this project going?

Actually, I'm thinking $900 / 6

No, but seriously...... I think we'll get 2 more orders soon..... there are a couple of people interested

It seems that as soon as we mentioned the limited production feature, more people are opening up to it

I would not spend more money. The premium is already at my limit. Now if they would accept an order for a front lip to go with it and reduce the number to 9, I might buy a front lip as well.

+1 same here....... I'm at my limit for the diffuser as well.

Lets not raise the premium yet, as I'm confident we'll get at least one more order. I've PMed a couple of more guys who seemed interested.

guys, this was the rear bumper they sold me at the dealership in able to fit my quad exhaust. its supposed to be an E63 bumper and the part number on my receipt was this : 6-6-03-6463 rear apron.
however, i was given a sheet from im guessing Germany because it says german on it and i think it lists all the part numbers there, not the receipt form of the part number.

is it the correct part? will the diffuser fit this?
thanks!

tchu-,

I don't have a part number for the E63 bumper, but if that part number you listed above is indeed for the E63 bumper, then the diffuser will fit on it 100%. Every single person on the list has an E63 bumper. Maybe Neal can verify the part number for the bumper

im kinda sketched about this bumper because the dealer has been tellling me that its not the EXACT same part number as the one for the real E63's, but that its an E63 bumper that was made for 550's since the mounting points are different or some bull**** like that.. and also he was telling me that it was not possible to have the front e63 bumper installed on a 550 which i know for fact is 100% untrue so i dont know what hes trying to pull. but this was the bumper he sold me and it would fit 4 tips for my exhaust, but just not sure if the diffuser will fit.

Also the bumper is unpainted and i took a look at it and it dosent have the shade of black material that is a different texture where the diffuser would sit? its all a one piece. is that how the e63 bumpers are?
can somebody clarify the part numbers please!
thanks!
I'm not aware of 2 different E63 bumpers I PMed Neal to verify the part numbers for you.

Hey Tim,

I ordered the 6-6 part number as well and it is in fact the E63 rear bumper. The 6-6 part numbers I believe are for Canadian dealers only and from the AMG catalogue (this based on conversations I've had with several board members).

The reason I know this is because they originally ordered the full kit (using the 6-6 part numbers). The rear bumper was correct, the side skirts and front bumper were incorrect (for the E550 AMG sport). I returned the side skirts and front bumper and kept the rear bumper.

No need to stress dude. Just go ahead and order the CF diffuser
BTW there's a MB meet & dyno this weekend in Vancouver, email sebringsilver[at]gmail.com for more details. $50 for 2 runs. I'd like to see how much more power your 550 makes than mine

To all E63 owners, our carbon fiber diffuser project is currently good to go...... We now have 10 PAID ORDERS !!!!!!

PLEASE NOTE: this is one last call for people who are on the fence regarding the diffuser.
