Good day at ATCO .....or how Wayne@LET made my car go 11s
I went to ATCO this friday and got a 3 runs in. My first of the night was on my 'lucky' left lane..... 11.71@121.33mph. Traction was great and the car just dug in and went with one very brief spin around 30mph, felt like my best 60ft yet. Here is the kicker the 60' and 330' triggers were not working in the left lane so I do not know what my 60' was.....which is kinda disspointing because it felt amazing. For my next run I decided to do right lane to get a 60' reading.....but traction was crappy and I went 11.90@120 with a 1.96 60'. My 3rd run was almost a disaster.....it was already around 9pm and temps were 33 degrees. Car started sliding to the side on launch, I corrected and regained traction ....started going......around 65mph my traction light starts flashing, rpms shoot up to redline and car starts sliding at 70mph. At that point I just let off and coasted to a 15.1@82mph and my 3rd win of the night lol.
Mods are...
LET custom tune
AMG 80mm TB
Evosport 175mm pulley
Evosport Phenolic Spacers
K&N air filters
Code3 HE
Cm30 pump
Removed secondary cats
tires - Bridgestone RE050 275/35/19
car made 495whp and 529wtq
before the tune my car's best was a 12.1@116 with a 1.88 60' also at Atco....which basically showed ALL my mods to be useless without a tune since there are plenty of stock cars doing 12.0-12.1 at the same trap I had.
few cool things i saw while at the track, new 135i with some mods went 13.1. there was also a guy in a 2008 M5 manual that i talked to, he was going 13.5-13.7 with 2.3 60's all night .....needless to say he was pretty angry lol.

Does your car sound different from removing the secondary cats? Did you just remove them without replacing anything?

thanks jody. i got a good deal on Evosport headers, so I am going to go back to the track soon
yeah i had the stock crossover (h pipe), secondary cats and resonator removed and replaced with straight pipe 2.5". car sounds great, very quiet on the inside but rumbles from the outside when you get on it. i plan on adding headers and removing primary cats, at which point i may consider a X-pipe.....but right now the sound is awesome.

Awesome job.
I'm happy we could help you get that 11.x - I remember the ear-to-ear grin the first time my sled rewarded me with one.
There's still a little bit left in your combo; let's continue to work on that small cooling issue, and you should see even better times.

My temps didnt seem to go above 90 at the track. I did get the DAS WIS info on bleeding the low pressure (supercharger) coolant and the reason coolant did not shoot out of the bleed hose at 1320 was because we did not put a vicegrip to block the return line after the bleed nipple. I will post a DIY with it later tonight.
I did bleed it yesterday and the pump was working fine, so hopefully that is in the past.
11sec club def feels good
Atco is decent. I prefer englishtown....it's a bit further away but it's better track then Atco. Atco is fast track, but my problem with it is that can't go around the wet box anymore.....so if you running street tires (which I am) you will have water trapped in the grooves.

I ran on 19" wheels with fully inflated street tires, and i trapped over 121mph. I agree that if I get smaller wheels and drag radials - the car will go 11.5 without a problem.

Welcome to the club!!!
I know you have been frustrated not getting there. So glad you were able to get it running right!!
Just warning you, it doesn't end there. Next up for you is trying non-stop to get as close to 11flat as you can!!
Been pulling my hair out on that one for years.

The return line block should only be necessary with an OEM pump - the CM30 should have enough push to overwhelm the return line and return coolant to the overflow tank.
I would still check the electrical connections right at the pump, if possible.
Please let me know if there's anything you need from our end.

Nice runs! Sounds like it will do 11.50s with smaller and stickier tires no problem.

How well will my tune work with the addition of headers?

it was a beautiful car, but it was just not performing. the driver said "i am driving it like i am supposed to with the m button" - i asked him "what happened to another second".
