E55 2006 Chrysler warranty issue
Hi guys,
I bought the car in Chrysler dealer by last wednesday and also bought the extended warranty the Max Care. Then on saturday I went to oil change in Mercedes dealer and they told me that I need to fix these things:
- Oil Pan Gasket, valve cover gasket
- Front left control arm bushing
- Motor mount
- transmmission mount.
Total cost labor and part is $4K
Now the Chrysler warranty doenst want to cover it because they say its existing problem but they never told me about this !!! the contract start on June 10th so it should cover by that time ! they told me if discover this problem in 3 months then they will fix it but whats the meaning of buying extended warranty and start at June 10 if i cant use it until Sept 10 !!!
Anybody has any recommendation ???
Thanx.....

I had the B service and a full inspection before I bought mine. I had it 3 months and the transmission electrical problem and the Suspension problem. They covered them both without a problem. It is the Premium $100.00 deductable, best money I have ever spent on a warranty.

today is June 15th, you bought your policy on the 10th. 5 days ago. how many miles did you drive in 5 days - 300? from their point of view all those items were CLEARLY broken before you got your warranty.
common sense.

sorry to op problem, but I agree with this. That sounds like a scam, 5 days later after a person purchased a warranty, he wants to rape Chrysler for $4k..

If he had the car instpected as a condition of obtaining hte warranty - I'd be having a talk with the inspecting dealer..... that's why the require inspections - to find the issues and exclude them.
However, - it's obvious they were pre-existing.
Or..... seems to me some of these things would be noticeable while driving - i.e. the motor mount, tranny mount and esp the control arm bushing. Any leaking should have been obvious too. Any thoughts that the M-B dealer might be trying to make some easy money????

seriously...the more people try to pull this on service contracts the more it hurts everyone. get the car checked out, get things fixed on your own before the service contract to get the car to operational conditions and then get the contract; should anything happen you are covered and you've done it the right way; not just throwing a 4K claim few days into the contract and expecting it to stick. I replaced a few thousand dollars (leaking left rear ABC strut etc...upper and lower front ball joints) prior to getting the service contract when the car was in State inspection process. Did it hurt, yes...but in the long run I know the car is good and if I need now I have the service contract to back me up.

Hey, I am not ripping off anybody WTF I got the car from the Chrysler Dealer, I am not mechanic but I know when I buy a car from Chrysler and got their own warranty its shouldnt be "pre-condition" and the dealer told me all their cars were inspected before they sell.

sorry - I might be misreading that - did you just buy the E55 itself from the Chrysler dealership and then, at the same time purchase the MaxCare warranty?
If so - the dealer should cover your repairs. You should be within the warranty period from the dealer.
I think I misunderstood - and that you had gotten an inspection done Wednesday and then submitted the claim. Sounds like you just got the CAR and the selling dealer owes you some service, not like you are trying to scam anyone.

to change this up a little bit
still kind of on the same topic
does fidelity also take 5-7 business day to pay for your repairs?
i am very close to purchasing an E55 in the next 2 weeks (before taxes go up again DOH), but i want to sort of pick my route for this extended warranty before i go out and buy the car

Well, Here is what happen.....
I went to a independent Mercedes shop in Walnut California "Star Mercedes" So they pull my car and check one by one with ME and we found NO licking at all !!! Because I called them ealier to perform the job and dealer quoted $4k and they quoted me $2k even from my own pocket.
But when we saw no licking at all then I realize I got screw by the dealer.
Now I have to explain to the warranty company that was a fake inspection from Mercedes of Anaheim. I can not BELIEVE the dealer is so but.... I felt much better now that my car is in very good condition.
The Star Mercedes took a good look in my car for about 45 mins and the car has no problem at all..... ThanX GOD
I will never return to that dealer again, you can not imagine my anger...
Thanx everybody for your reply and sorry if I offended anybody....

Might want to fix your spelling, Licking -> Leaking...
Good to hear nothing is wrong with your car!

looks like the dealer screwed you over; they should sell a cleared car or at least point out it's difficiences at point of sale; independent dealers (and apparently some factory certified dealers) and "As is" clauses on used cars are notorious for such experiences it seems from observation of not only my own experience but those of others as well.

FYI...I just got my service contract papers last Friday. So it has taken 3 months for the actual service agreement to get to me after two requests.

you guys getting bills from them? I haven't gotten an invoice. I'm usually pretty good, but it can be hard to remember to make the monthly payment without a damn bill.
I'm REALLY aggravated by their administrative/back office, but the product itself is very good.
