Ok just got my inspection back from a MB dealership. They did not perform any pre-contract inpection so they just gave me an complementary 32 point inspection (I dont know if that will work or not). Anyways it states that I need to replace the right and left valve covers (leaking), and the left rear shock absorber is leaking. I put 4-5k miles a year on this car and had a 32 point inspection done at another dealership 1.5 months ago. That inspection never mentioned those problems, instead I had leaking motor/transmission mounts. Given the facts, are the service reps just trying to generate $$$$. In the short amount of time and maybe 300 miles top between the inspections, if I had parts leaking then I assume both reports should be the same. Will I be able to get an extended warranty with Chrysler based on today's inspection?

You need to verify the condition of the car prior to Service contract, CSC has made me take it in for dealer inspection in the past.

How are you signing in online? I can't seem to do it.
I called them and they said that my contract does not allow me to view it online.

I've been told by an SA or two in private that they must discover and recommend at least $1,000 worth of work on every car.

Apparently you cannot anymore as I just looked. Maybe they will get that working again shortly.

Guess it depends on dealership. Mine will do anything that the warranty covers. Last thing was a SAM module for around $500.00.

Not sure what the Chrysler inspection form is like, but the dealership I went to said the free inspection would not apply for the inspection form that Michael Case sent me.
I should call to see what the Chrysler one has on it.

On a side not can someone email me a copy of the inspection form from csc. I want to compare it to the one that Michael case sends out. I tried calling csc & they didn't want I was talking about Todd was gone for the day.

I think he meant that they recommend $1k plus during the inspection.

So are the recommend service (leaking R/L valve covers and LR shock absorber) just a wear and tear issue or should I get them replaced ASAP?

Also I called Todd and they did not have any paperwork for the inspection. He just mentioned the dealership knows what needs to be done. The paperwork I got from the SA was something that looked like a receipt with the issues that need to be addressed. The generic info is on there (VIN, miles, Date, Name, and Make/Model). My regular dealership wants $395 to do a pre-insurance contact inspection.

yes. Aside from a 5 to 7 day wait for payment, transaction went as expected.

BBB description of ratings for a C:

Average rating. We would expect consumer transactions to be satisfactory. Since each transaction is individual, read our full report to determine if you have questions or concerns.

I bought a Fidelity since they cover the ABC system. At this point MB has started selling extended warranties to non-original owners according to posts here. I would have jumped at one of these but it happened a month or so too late for me. C'est la vie

Looks like it's about $1,800 for a two year contract with either Fidelity or Chrysler for my 03 SL55 with 36k miles.

Now I need to decide what one to go with....

driving me crazy!

Goodbeach, does the Chrysler warranty NOT cover the ABC system?

We'll know more about this on the judge's next decision. It could go badly if he sides with the funds...which would mean liquidation....but most are confident he will side with Fiat.

Thinking about pulling the trigger on this warranty. Everyone think it's safe now that the merger was approved?

I hope so. I was tempted to go with Mercury or even extending the CPO. The rate was more expensive & for a shorter period of time for both of them

If I still have factory warranty until 01/10 should I wait or just get it now? I am afraid the price will skyrocket once all of you guys are done pillaging the system for $4-5k in repairs each visit!

I just got my contract in the mail! yay! Man, the more I think of it, $3285 for 5 additional years and 70k additional miles for that price is really a steal!!! And the coverage is very comprehensive too!!!!

buy at your own risk.... I was a bit nervous with the delay in paperwork even after I'd paid 2 monthly bills; if something goes wrong I hope they cover me promptly and justly.

Why did you guys choose to make payments over one lump payment?

zero interest payments means that in case something did happen you'd have less into the total purchase price of the plan; time value of money is better spent elsewhere IMO.

There is an extra $169 added on to the premium when you choose the payment plan.
