Who has the Chrysler aftermarket warranty?
about to purchase this warranty for my 600 and wanted to know if they are a good outfit? i noticed in the service agreement the car must be serviced at a chrysler dealership unless you call in advance and get permission to take it to the mb dealership...this is the only part that worries me. thanks in advance for any input?

most chrysler dealers do have at least one mech that is trained on Mercedes I just got my car back from the dealer last week, rear end,, tranny, throttle body and MM,,,i have a crossfire which is 100% slk 32 except for that little thing on the front that says Chrysler. ask if they have a Mercedes mech if not take it to a Mercedes dealer. jim

I just called Chrysler Warranty, spoke to Todd Ext. 6781. He was very helpful and quoted me a price of $3285 for a 5 yr / 70k warranty for my 2005 E55. It was the comprehsnive coverage plan. No inspection required, all you have to do is fork out $100 to start, and then the balance over the next twelve month, interest free.
He said that you can go to any Chrysler or Mercedes for service. I called up 2 Mercedes dealership after I got off the phone with them and both of them basically told me that they take any warranty, they just have to call them up before they begin repairs to get authorization (standard procedures for all plans).
If you really think about it, 5-years & 70k miles to cover an AMG model for $3200 is literally a steal (works out to be about $657/year!). My only concern is if Chrysler goes under in the next 5 years whether this warranty will still be valid. I'm not sure if the plan is underwritten by an actual insurance carrier (some are). Either way it sounds like a very good deal to me.

For what its worth I spoke to Michael Cane who sells these warranties, and I called my local MB dealer, and both said they will take this warranty.

They paid for the alternator, but plan on 2 days after the work is done for payment. That was very annoying because my dealer wouldn't release the car until payment. They accepted a credit card imprint from me until payment was received...so OK

My take on the issue after research: https://mbworld.org/forums/cl55-amg-...-warranty.html
I'm getting a Fidelity 6 year 72,000 warranty for my CL65 and it costs $3411. The company is solid financially and appear to honor their warranty.

I have the Chrysler warranty...just had to use it for a transmission leak that cost about $600.00. While I was there I mentioned the usual supercharger jerk and got them to do the supercharger clutch pack again which is about $1400.00.
I got out with the $100.00 deductible.

i too have a chrysler max care contract, and had the tranny electrical plug leak... took it straight to mb dealer and chysler approved repair... most chrysler dealerships can also sublet work if they cannot perform the repair, and bill it directly to chrysler.... highly recommended...

thanks for all the responses. my car currently has 74k miles and i drive about 140 miles a day...i needed a warranty with high miles.
i was quoted $1865 for a two year/unlimited miles chrysler maximum care warranty for my 04' s600 with a $200 deductible. sounds too good to be true and the reason i was asking people that had it, if it was good.

I have 62k miles and its an 03
They are legit and super easy to buy.
Just need the vin and a credit card. You do have 12 months to pay it off.
I have posted all the info on a similar thread now on Page 2 of this board.

Guys, they offer the best deal for AMG cars. Although their price sounds competitive, it really is for AMG models. Their rating system does not distinguish the difference between AMG vs non-AMG cars so if you have an AMG car, they are your best bet.
I just got off the phone with Todd and purchased my 5-year / 70k additional miles coverage for $3285. I got everything up and running in less than 10 minutes. Coverage has already begun! You only pay $100 today and everythign else is paid in 12-month installments, interest free.
I went ahead an inquired on a same quote for my 2006 BMW 3-series. Surprisingly, it's the same price ($3285)! I wouldn't say they offer a good for the BMW, but $3285 for an AMG-Mercedes is a steal!

You can speak with anyone. However, I had a great initial discussion with Todd and I elected to reach him personally when I called again to purchase the contract.
The general phone # is 800-442-2666. You won't have an option to put in an extension at that number. However, you can request Todd at extension #6781 once a live person answers.
Tell him that Jerry from San Francisco sent you, he is a SF native himself.

There is some guy that is on the board that respresents these contracts for a LOT less. I think people were getting them for $2500 or so.

Are you folks dealing with servicecontracts.chrysler.com directly? I purchased a Max Care, 4yr/50k mile warranty (which pushes my warranty to 2013 or 99K miles) in December '08 & the total cost was around $1700. I don't know if they've raised their prices or if you guys are going through a re-seller, but your prices seem high.

I went directly to Chrysler since they can start the coverage right over the phone without any inspection and hassle. You pay $200 more but save on the time and money (and risk) for not having to go to the dealership for an inspection.
