It was supposed to have 545 hp, now they're saying it'll only be 525 hp...... that's only +18 hp difference than previous generation model

I just sold my E55 and was thinking of going to ML63 for the AWD and airmatic or C63 for the good looks, but this might just make me wait. And here I was giving up on the e-class.

The front end is cool. The back end reminds me of a Camry. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I remember the new "S" class had to grow on me (although the spy photos didn't do it justice), but now I love it. Hopefully the rear end of the E Class AMG will look better than the non-AMG.

Bwahaha...the E63 looks even more like the Hyundai than the regular E does...

I hate to say it but, even thoe the car looks good it is looking to come up short in the performance department. the caddy has more power and upgraded handling. The new M5 is rummored to sport twin turbos to put out more power than audi's 580hp car.

This make me feel good about my choice to buy a 55 instead of a 63. more room to grow. merc is just not able to find a fix for the tranny. the 63 motor is capable of incredible power but, the 7-speed tranny can't handle it. if the M5 delivers on 600Hp that's where I may end up. or a 997 turbo.

Rumor has it MB is going the twin turbo route as a replacement for the 6.2L engine.....here is an article I found, sorry if it is a repost.

That's a great rummor but, that does not answer the question about the tranny. even in the new 65 and 65BS they are using the old 5-speed tranny. Merc needs to let AMG develop their own tranny for AMG cars.

until MERC handles the tranny issue +500TQ will not happen.
