Believe it or not, a major tuner told me a story about a "sneakly pete" Muscle car that had the entire setup (bottle and controls) behind the dashboard and won lots of cash at the track until somebody wised up and insisted on a full inspection . I thought it was humorous but I seriously doubt this can be done on a small Euro coupe. As you said, a record is a record and I plan to run my car both with and without NOS when it finally leaves Vadim's shop.

Amen...All Ahmad needs to to is go out and make a pass on spray and he will acomplish several things, he will easily knock 3/10th probably more off his 10.78, by doing so he will set the all time quickest MB in the world record and give any doubters the middle finger in the process.

I questioned why he did not strap a bottle on and go for the overall record early on in this thread, he is less than .25 away from the record. To be honest that is the only part of this that does not make sense to me, anyone else would have strapped on a bottle and gone for broke. I know Ahmads answer is going to be that he want to get the record without spray, and that is awesome, but if you are so anti-nitrous why even have it installed on your car in the first place. Ahmad, again this post is not an attack, I am carefully choosing my words, but put yourself in an outsiders shoes and you can see why there could be some doubt based on the couple questions I just posted.

 

Ahmed said he regrets putting the bottle on initially. I think he doesn't want to use NOS to mainly prove a point. I agree with you, I would've certainly put in a bottle.

If you or Luke feel so strongly that he used NOS then why not make the bet? It's really that simple. Luke is trying to hide behind his stupid Willow routine when that has nothing to do with whether Ahmed used NOS or not. He made the allegations and he's still calling Ahmed a liar. If he truly believes that then he should put up the money, and fly out to MIR for verification.

I was there and can attest ahmad ran no bottle on his car, if my words count at all.... His car is definitely a monster, just making it into the 10's consistantly should be enough to prove a point. If he sprays it's over, even for my puny V12. I'd say go for it ahmad.
If you spray I wonder what will be the excuse then..."he had a launch pack strapped at the back of his car"..., Give the man respect. He deserves all the credit in the world for taking his platform into the mid 10's almost. That is quite impressive.

Tough to prove that you did not run nitrous to those who want to believe otherwise. I have heard the rumblings about my car a few times. Nothing like what you are getting, but it is still pretty frustrating.

I DO NOT feel strongly that he used a bottle, so please do not try to start a flame war with me, I am trying to post in a civil manner, all I said is that I can see how some people may be led to believe he did spray. I said it before and I will say it again, I COULD CARE LESS IF HE USED A BOTTLE OR NOT! He owns the record fair and square, and that is all I am focused on! The only thing I said is if it was me (or nearly any one of us) I/we would have strapped a bottle on and gone for broke and taken the MB all-time world record home with me, it sounds like conditions were near perfect and Ahmad had the car dialed in perfectly...all the records could have fallen that day, nobody could have said squat about it...we would not be having this conversation right now.
