Blacked Out Grill??

I got a massive discount through a friend, but I don't think it would cost too much at a body shop. I'd hate to give a ball-park figure since I have no idea what a body shop would charge, but it really shouldn't be that much.
I also know that a few here have done their own grills with spray paint, hopefully one of them can chime in with their experiences with that.

You can't powder coat it b/c its plastic so go with the bodyshop!!
I has mine done at a shop... There are ways you can do it yourself but I recomend a bodyshop doing it /b the paint holds up better then spray paint. Especially against rock chips!!
Best bet.... drive up to the a body shop and show them your grille. Tell them it is just the chrome piece that you want painted. You can take the grille off and separate the chrome from the black plastic backing and even scotchbrite/scuff it up for them so cut out the laber $$ . So all they would have to do is shoot it with paint and bake it.
I went with Satin Black which looks really good when you put the grille back together and the contrast of the Satin Black against the Gloss Black plastic back in !!!

I did mine my self with spray paint it. I did it all as one pc. I just sanded the **** out of the chrome then sanded the black plastic with a very high grit of sand paper I'll have to check what grit. then shot it with 2 coats of gloss black let it dry for a day then shot it with Clear I have put about 1000 miles on it with with the paint here in AZ which is like rock chip central and it still looks fine.

I know its no AMG, but it shows a matte black against a silver/bright car.

i think its a goose. im not sure though. the damn thing was chasing me around the whole time i was taking pictures. finally I got behind it and took pictures with the goose in them, actually worked out great!

My Car is Black, Thank you for the advice. I Still don't know if i should do glossy or flat black because my car is black, and if I going to a paint shop is it going to be durrable enough to withstand rocks and road junk?
