Hey Guys,

I need to come clean. With all the great track times being posted these days I am feeling a bit guilty because I’ve not been honest with myself and others. I’m starting to wonder why I feel the need to misrepresent something as silly as a car. Specifically my 650hp, 11.2 @ 124mph, E55.

You see, I don’t even know if my car has 650hp but that’s what I tell people when I get questioned at a gas station or store parking lot. I also like to throw around the impressive time of 11.2 @ 124, even though the best I’ve ever done is 11.7. I justify my deceitfulness by believing it is plausible that my car could run that fast. Hell….... others have done it so why not include myself in this elite group? I know………it’s pathetic but I honestly don’t know why I do it. I never lie regarding other matters. I have a great life with a wonderful family, good friends and a job I love.

So tell me......... am I sick.... do I need help... or is this just harmless and normal car enthusiast behavior? Do you guys ever tell a lie about your AMG?

BTW don’t tell me I’m compensating for my small member.

Your honesty is unprecedented in the world of car enthusiasts and forums Rock.

Dyno numbers are just that........NUMBERS whereas the numbers that you run at the strip are the true testament to how fast a car actually is...........in the 1/4 mile that is.

That being said if you like the way your car drives, the way it handles, the way it looks and the power of it then you have achieved what most car enthusiasts are trying to accomplish(most don't). Making the car EXACTLY the way YOU want it to be.

Of course, the quest for the baddest, fastest, best looking, best handling, best braking best whatever with ANY car is always changing and, as long as you are happy with the car, you can tell anyone WHATEVER you want........you'll be the only one to know the truth unless someone calls you out, you race and you get spanked.

Then it's time for the engine to get pulled and fully built so your lies will become reality!

AMG Fan....Do you have more pictures of your E55? I Just acquired an '06 E55 AMG and I want to get rid of the OEM wheels and put on 19 or 20's. blk/polished, all blk or chrome. I just can not seem to find many pictures. What size wheel did you go with? Staggered?
Thanks!

You would be suprised at all the mullet having Mustang and Camaro drivers out there that have no idea...it's just a Mercedes, how fast can it be?

The kids with the Civic's, Eclipse's and WRX's know exactly what a Black Series is they never try to push their luck, except once I had a guy with a WRX on the hook until his buddy came over and talked some sense into him but the redneck racers have no clue..."no way is no godamn Mercedes gonna beat my blown 1989 Mulletstang GT"

Just don't rev the engine until they commit to the race.

At idle the engine is quiet and then crack the throttle and ........................OH *****!

Ok..... I lie too.

I'm not sure if it's a lie or not though haha. I tell them the car has 500hp. Other than the headers I have no other mods.
