Whats the best way to go about this?

Not sure about that. You might want to look at the conductive properties of different coatings.... You'll want to find one that matches raw aluminum, that way you get the maximum heat transfer.

Why do you want to do this? I imagine that most people want it aluminum so that it stands out.

I had my aftermarket HE coated by Swaintech with their BBE coating; allegedly helps the heat-radiating efficiency of the unit. As an added bonus, it's a stealthy satin black.

I think we all know what the "before" looks like with the raw aluminum, so I'll just share the "after":



And, installed:



Probably overkill, but I enjoyed the way it turned out.

Swaintech-I used it on another cars' IC and saw an 8 degree drop in IAT's. But there were some variables in that test, so take it or leave it. That was also an air to air IC.

Personally when I decide to upgrade my heat exchanger, I would like it black as well. Stealthy sleeper is the way for me
