One Less SL Black Series
Just got a call from my brother who lives in Mill Valley, CA. He claims to have seen a silver SL BS totally destroyed on the 101 freeway up around Lucas Valley Ranch, single male occupant dead at the scene, no other cars involved. He said it looked as though the driver lost it on an on-ramp and barrel rolled it many times. Apparently the only part of the car he could even make out was the trunk with the small BS emblem under the AMG.
RIP....glad no one else was injured.

Sad..............but another reason why people should take their cars to the track if you want to carve out some canyons, hang a few turns or see how fast it will go. There are plenty of drag strips, Willow Springs, Laguna Seca and Firebird raceways around the country where one can test both the car and their driving skills.

Only took me one ESP malfunction to realize how much it does for us rookie "handling" drivers. ESP warning comes up and I think nothing of it. Punched it coming out of gas station and arrrrrrround she comes on me. I was so used to ESP shutting down my TB and hitting the corner brakes for me.
Sales guys should make sure to tell these guys that without SOME track knowledge, ESP OFF on the BS is certain death. (not that it's the case here and my prayers go out to his family).

AMG Challenge
I think most of the folks on the board would benefit from going to the AMG challenge. My wife and I went a few years ago. Although I had years of driving an overpowered lowsy handling Vette under my belt, I swapped ends several times, fortunately without causing damage. It definitely allowed me to KNOW the limits of our cars. It was invaluable and also a blast.

that's what happens when dealers sell 600+ hp cars to Attorneys and doctors.
their should be a national law on if your car is below like 6.5lb /Hp your need high performace driving class.

I'm going to call 
on this, a crash like this would have been on the news as it would be on par with the F360 crashed by "Mask" awhile back. Might of been an April fools... I seriously can't find one article about it, it surely would have made the news by now, at least the local papers and I checked and nothing... fatalities + speeding = news.

unless it was someone famous, a high level executive, public official or a group of people, I highly doubt the media would cover it.
come on, it was one individual in a Mercedes. a rich guy in an expensive car. I doubt it would gain much, if any, coverage.
