dude, no one take Ambien. In 60 seconds I got rocked and fell asleep on my laptop...what a mess.

Anyways I also had the compression checked and it was fine across all cylinders. Benz charged me like $500...WTF.

I ended up replacing spark plugs (all worn) and had to replace some fuel injectors and clean the rail.

Supposedly no transmission issues whatso ever. Hard to believe the cause was per MB:

Bad tune ==> super rich mixture ==> under spec injector ==> clogged cats ==> misfires, transmission codes popping up.

It took Benz 30 days and $1800 to diagnose this with some new parts but mostly labor. Hopefully its correct. They said when they took off the exhuast to bypass the cats it drove like a dream. Just spent $1K on the damn Kleeman cats and the car MAYBE had 400 miles on them.

Good to know LET will be there on the 26th in my area. I will go.

Heh heh, the famous Ambien blackouts!! Great stuff!!

I used to walk into walls etc. Then you learn to lay down and take it.

Just to hijack for a sec. If ANYONE takes Ambien for more than 2 weeks, please please be careful. Going cold turkey can leave you near a nervous breakdown state. It's highly addicting and you will lay in bed with ZERO sleep for quite a few days. Best way to get off it is to taper slowly (after longer term use). Go 3/4....few days, then half....then 1/4.

Some people can come right off it but VERY few.

Let's just say some of us had to learn that one the hard way. Google bot will pick this up and just wanted to help future surfers on how to get off it.

Great to hear your trans is ok. Last time I was at Funktion, they were saying your trans was in pieces. Hopefully you're good to go. What dealer did you take it to?

I took it to Tysons. The trans sounded like it was in pieces but it pulled well today. I think it is ok. Drives fine now. I still don't understand it all....

you read my mind. Going to put straight pipes in and swap them out every 2 years for VA emission testing. Assume I will lose TQ and gain HP...not a bad trade.

Going to get the LET tune since it will be custom to my car which is a big plus.

So true on every thing you said. I got on it and off it before and it was 72 hours of NO sleep. I used to use it to compress my day to get to sleep faster. Used it when i would fly from the east coast to Microsoft (consulting) take the red eye and be back on the east coast 16 hours later all for a freakin 2 hour meeting. Crap would still be in my system when I landed off the red eye and I would drive straight to work (more dangerous than driving 100mph)....60-90 hour weeks...McKinsey style. Forget that.

Using it now to get out of daddy duty when my daughter cry's and **** and ****s her bed in the night. Got to get off it again and help her mother, lol. Going to just use melatonin or wine.

Do you need to swap it out for emissions as long as the OBD2 read ok?

Same thing happened with my car, clogged cats, made it run terrible. You must have missed my thread. A few members guessed bad cats rather quickly and I was able to avoid any serious $$ damages.

Hope you got it all squared away though!

I'm the odd ball, NO prob on or off Ambien, my favorite part is the midnight Ambien pigout meals (Bodybuilding requires tons of food, not easy puting away 5-7 meals a day Ambien makes the last meal easy LOL) freakin crazy don't even remember making a huge meal only to wake to dirty kitchen..

You def don't want to be driving on this stuf, flat DUI territory...
