With New York auto show mode in full swing, read some interesting info.

V8TT with direct injection looks on track to be unveiled next year.....but get this, rumor has it the CLS will be first up to have it while we get stuck with the N/A motors (I am sure it will come shortly after....uhhhh I think)

That make any sense?? I forgot what they did when they went N/A. Did the E get it....then down the road the CLS got it.

Maybe it is true then.

EXCELLENT, that means the E will get it...... it's just a matter of time

I think the CLS will be due for a new chasis design in 2011, and that's why they maybe getting it first

thats what I am waiting for....wife and i have already discussed this and once the v8tt comes out in either the E or the CLS we are in line and ready!
Funny part is she wants me to have it probably more then I want it myself! Shes a speed/luxury freak that wants me to drive the best God i love her!!!

My wife is the same way. She knows what a gearhead I am and she derives some "vicarious" pleasure in my child-like excitement over cars and mods. It also helps that she knows she is free to grab the keys and wheel up to any appointment or errand in the Beast! She really wants "us" to get and SL65 next, but I am VERY excited about the new V8TT ///AMG motor!!!

The only bad thing is that it looks like the CLS will get it for model year 2011 (that's 2 years from now ), which means the E-Class won't get it until the face lift in model year 2012-2013 (and that's 3 to 4 years from now ).

It seems like they could sell a LOT more W212 had they introduced it in the new W212 E63??

well bmw came out with a v12tt, i think v8tt form mb is the answer

When we went to NA, E got it first, so in 2007 it was E63, CLS55 - now E63 is getting the new gearbox and such and CLS will follow.

For 2007 AMG models, both E class and CLS class were 63 naturally aspirated.... not sure about debut dates but same model year

So much for AMG giving up the horsepower wars. However, that sounds about right with the new M5 having 550hp I believe.
