Finally get my car back she looks great,

Got in and the front tires were rubbing. I though perhaps I ran over something so I pulled over. Nope nothing under, some nice new scrapes on the spoiler I just had replaced!!!!!!!!!!Fk

So I get back in press the raise button, I can hear the pump but car is not raising up.

so it sits , looks slammed, well it is unfortunately its not drivable.

Just called for a tow

anybody had an airmatic failure?

Hopefully just one of the air tubes must have broken. Is it lowered on one side only or all 4 corners.

 

Just the drivers side front. The pump just keeps pumping until you turn off the car after the button is pressed.

Tow truck should be here any second I will post up what dealer says. Glad I was very close to home

No the car is not lowered normally just a normal suspension, no mods at all cept for the 030 beef

I've had Airmatic failure on past S430, (1) frnt strut can run $1k-$1500 if mem serves (sometimes they offer a very affordable repair kit)

Hope it is just a disconnected tube. You think this could attributed to the repo company's treatment of your car (latent problems)?

had a similar problem with my 06' CLS55. Brought it to the dealer maybe 4 times and they still couldnt correct the problem. It would only happend when the car was parked and 5 minutes after i started it, it would raise back to normal.

Sorry to hear that Juicee, I was really hoping you break the record yet again and put Mr. Ricky on the run.....

 

This is exactly what happened, pump kept pumping, car would go up 1/2 inch then down 1/4 then up then down then up then down. Pumpo just stayed on trying to raise her.

Glad I have warranty, least I have that going for me. Since the car was checked at Calstar and no airmatic problems discovered I can only assume this was a failed componet based on what seems to be a common problem in the parts that make up the Airmatic system.

Damn man, you've had some rotten luck. Airmatic can bite sometimes, hope its covered.

 

Car was running so nicely too. So yeah it is now at Mercedes Benz of BH. This has been a wild couple months , I think I have put 90 miles on her in 3 months.

 

Front strut needs replacement on back order so I will not be getting it back until next week. They said part will be in Monday? crap crap crap.. Gotta sue for loss of use for sure now

 

So Strut is coming from Germany now fro the last 5 days, funny.

Don't have a suspension failure, this AMG strut is so rare there are none in the USA and it takes Germany 2 weeks to get it to the dealer.... Car has 90 miles on it in 3 months.

so my car will be MIA for 4 months.

But damn, this is what I hate about Airmatic. You can get stranded anywhere anytime. I'd prefer conventional suspension on these cars and then put in a PSS-10 coilover setup or something.

But Juicee, maybe the damage did come from the repo crooks dragging the car the way they did(?) even if Calstar said it checked out ok. btw, who's your SA at BH?

 

Yeah I veryfied this, the part is not available anywhere in the USA. It is showing 5-7 days from Germany but My SA Kerry at BH ordered the part on May 20th.

She emailed today and they are now telling her June 26th. She will get to the bottom of this on Monday. They fixed the rear sun shade and are going to repair the keyless go.

I will be including the repairs(loss of use ) in my civil claim v. repoman. It has gone well above 10k now

 

+1...my brother had the same on his S430 as well..they had to replace the airmatic pump and alternator since it could produce enough juice to power it up.

 

I'm here for another hour... suck!!
