No 4th gear shift. You might be onto something, I didn't even think about that. Yeah, I definitely need more help on my launch but they're a mile better than before. THanks again Mike for taking my phone call and helping me. I knew I made the right decision by making you my hero....
You're more than welcomed to try my set at Famoso. I'm sure I'll still have them. I guess it might be a blessing in disguise that know one wanted to buy my DR set .

lol, no problem buddy. i was excited to get your calls last night...congrats on some fantastic times!
i may not use your tires...but i may be looking to borrow a few other items off your car (maybe even when you're not looking).

Mikey makes a very good point. If the taller tire is allowing you to stay in 3rd gear through the traps you probably wanna keep em. Shifting costs you ET. E55baller ran the same setup as you and was trapping high as well. I used to run that setup with BFG d/r's and the traction just wasnt there but mph was also higher with the same mods. With that being said, are you getting any spin on the launch? You need to come out the hole harder to get in the tens. Your car is really picking up mph up top. 29mph on the back half! You need to work on your launch to improve the front 1/8th ET. On my best pass to date I ran a 6.919 1/8th at 100.94mph with a 1.55 60' and only trapped 127.1 You picked up alot more speed on the top end

Im kinda wondering why your concerned with your 60 ft time??? That 1.68 is as good as your going to get at SAC. A 1.68 at at SAC is crazy.
You simply need to keep your car as is, and run it on a 50-60 degree day..............you will see 1.59 perhaps 10.99 definately 11.0's That DA cost you some ET and trap but no matter I am prtetty sure this is the best trap ever attained by an 55k car in California?? Am I right...Plus the 11.23 is flipping quick as hell, prolly #1 all motor E55 pass in the West. Actually your creeping up on the East...Egads your a quick study
ALSO , I definately wish to try your tires , please ,lol

alan, do you recall if your car shifted into 4th on the 128mph run? i'm wondering if your tires allow you to stay in 3rd all the way up to those incredilbe mph's. it might be worth keeping them if that's the case as there are other ways we can improve your launch!
these cars are so wierd...can't believe i'm even considering the fact that taller gearing than 2.65 might be beneficial in the 1/4mile!!!

No LT's yet. I'm using Vadim's HEM's right now with mid-section and race cats. This was done with 18" Kosei's mounted to M/T Street radial II's 265x40x18's. This tire diameter is quite a bit bigger than stock and maybe that's why my trap speeds were a little high and my 60' times suffered. Not sure but I think with LT's and CCW rims 10's are here. JMO.
I think you're within striking distance of a 10 sec pass on the ccw/mt setup

Incorrect. You're about a inch smaller in diameter.

Holly sh*t....... 128 mph
Congratulations Alan, these times are absolutely impressive It takes very skilled driving to pull these kind of runs especially at Sacramento Wow man, looks like your car is now the quickest/fastest E55 in the west coast
By the way, I hate to tell you I told you so, but do you remember my exact words to you before the track event? I said, "mark my words Alan, your car will be at least in the 11.20 range"
Your car WILL hit 10s after long tubes and re-custom tune....

Yes Mo you did tell me so. I always down play things just so I don't disappoint . If I do own that title it won't be for long...all the big hitters will be showing up at Famoso gunning for 10.7/8's. I know at least one of them will get it, at least I'm hoping. They would definitely deserve it after all the hard work they put into these MB's.

Hey guys, even though conditions weren't the greatest my car still managed do well. I had about 4-5 11.3 runs @ 127mph with okay 60's times and the best being the title up top. I'll have time slips to come and a more detailed story of how the day went.
A while ago some thought my dyno numbers were a little high for dyno dynamics but I now think my car has proven it might be some what accurate.
The DA ranged from 2800 to 1200 at 10pm. There was a guy with a some type of DA handheld device at he was measuring a little higher than dragtimes, approximately 300-400. I definitely want to get one of these things but after searching they seem kind of expensive for as little as I'll use it. It would be great for logging your runs.
Here's a video of one of my 11.3 runs. I didn't get my best run on video because I didn't expect it at the time I did it.

If any of you more experienced track junkies have any advice on my launch or burnout please comment.

Very nice launch in the video.
You could do a slightly longer burnout at night. 8 seconds also try to keep the car from over revving during burn.
You were very smooth on the lights but I would get in the box quicker after yer burn out to prevent the rubber from rapidly cooling especially in night air.
Car sounds as good as I can imagine, and you and SAL will be a great matchup, dam this is getting really really competitive again. The fact you did this in July in California is a head shaker, wonder where the F boys are now????
The low 11 second passes in a street legal 4 door baby hauler are seriously amazing.
Can we do this again next week?

As far as Sal and I, I think Chiromikey vs Sal/Benzgal would be the better line up. Those guys were already fast last year and I could guarantee they'll be faster this year. Trust me, I know.... Who are the F boys? I didn't catch that one...I'm a little slow
I'm pretty happy breaking my PB's during summer because things could only get better. After thinking about how many people are actually posting up new records during summer, not many....besides the Arizona boys. They have it much tougher than we do and conditions like what I had is probably considered great.
This Friday? I don't know Josh, do you really plan on coming up one of these days j/k.

Thanks Josh. Yeah, I still have a lot to learn but if some of you veterans ever make it up it would help. Us rookies need guidance to help improve our 60' times. Either way I was still happy with the performance of my car adverse conditions.

Maybe wed night. dood your car is as fast , trust me its going to come down with how much YOU weigh. Mikey has the weight advantage on most of us aside from Lisa. hehe.
The F boys were cracking on the Benz owners a few years back, calling us some unkind stuff. Looks like you will likely be a target if you keep attending SAC especially on Wed nights.
Great job, Maybe we can get Rick to buy SAC and rename it Mercedes International Dragway MID baby

Wednesday night is bad, really bad. Friday nights tnt will be much better and they actually sprayed the track down with VHT...! Traction was good at Sacramento, I had four 1.7's and two high 1.6's. This is me, the rookie, just imagine what better drivers could do . Bring the wifey along and make a weekend of it.
LOL...Yeah Rick you should by Sacramento!
