Service D?
Service indicator said today that Service D was due in 600 miles, does anyone know anyone know what's involved?
I searched the forums and it seems most services are A, B or C - is D for higher mileage?
The odd thing is, the odo is only reading 17,6XX miles right now.
Any clarification is appreciated.

MJ and rkao,
D = 4hrs of work with no specific items defined.
A=1, B=2, C=3, D=4, etc
What you need to do is read your maintenance booklet to see what your vehicle requires. Many times it is just "check this" and "check that", things we all do every day.
I do not know about the 55's, but the 63's really do not need anything special until 2 yrs and/or 40K. Every 2 yrs the brake fluid needs replacing and at 40K the transmission fluid needs to be changed (sort of - not a flush). As for air filters (both engine and cabin) I expect we can all do ourselves.
I have done every maint item on my E63 including the diff fluid change @2K miles. I will have the dealer do the brake fluid, tranny fluid, and pano roof clean and lube (although if I dig into it more I might do it myself).
RTM!!! = Read the manual.

Jon...this makes sense, my car is coming up on 2 years on 7/31 so based on your schedule, it's due for a brake fluid flush and change.
And per MJ50, what manual?
Thanks.

thats prob because aftermarket oiled filters have been known to dick with sensors if to much oil was applied. that being said, i put them in my car, just padded them down with a rag to insure there wasnt to much oil on it

My service advisor told me the service C was around $600 and included a coolant flush, transmission fluid change, and oil change. Screw that, I'm going to Chris here locally.

No, I had the transmission done one or two services ago along with some warranty issue, so it wasn't needed this time.

Service G...
Bought my CPO 06 E55 with 18,000 miles and 7000 miles later the service menu saya Service G coming up in 5000 miles...
From my understanding and from Marcus post, service G is an 8 hour job . Mu question is,shouldn't a CPO car has all the service done at the time of getting certified ?
What's invloved in service G any way...
Thanks

Merecedes is like any other car, just keep your oil changed and you will be fine. Service D is pure profit for the stealer and a ripoff for the customer. The entire FSS is designed to give cash profits to the stealer. Trouble is most people wheel the car in for these service intervals.

I'm taking mine in tomorrow for "Service G". I was at the dealer a week ago asking what I will be having done. I'm @ 30,000 miles and the car was CPO'd last January. They told me not to worry about the LETTER G. All I should need is oil & filter change and the fluids topped off. Not sure about the cabin filters. Guess I'll find out tomorrow.

My E55 told me that "Service H" was due when it hit 30k mile. Since this was the first service since I bought the car, I stressed a bit about the 8 hours (and associated cost) per the DSS. The dealer told me that the letter meant nothing, that they either perform an "A" service or "B" service, for approximately $200 and $400 respectively. (both of which are likely overpriced)

Just got back and I was asked what I would like done? Service A or Service B. Service A was $199 and Service B is $379. I chose A as B was performed at the time of CPO. Of course they would like to have B done every time you take it there. Most of the items in B are merely visual inspections other than lubrication of various components. The brake fluid will be done every 2 years, which will be next year. I'm assuming the price is pretty standard for A & B.
