Though i do have a different car than you, I can asure you that the Techron Concentrate is OK and approved for MB's.

It actually does a great job cleaning the fuel system and i highly recommend it to anyone.

There was a thread in the w203 section about using techron and its benefits. No negative reviews thus far. I have used it myself and am happy w/ the results.

FYI--Chevron and Texaco gas both contain Techron. I only use Chevron gas. Don't know if you have it where you are but you might consider using it regularly.

A thread about additives had a post that said that the fuel treatments included in the gas at the pump are equalivalent to spitting in the gas tank. Some said use a fuel cleaner twice a year while others said every 3,000 miles. No reports against using it in the prior threads.

I fill up with chevron and use techron every 3k miles.
From my experience I actually gained 3 mpg and the engine feels a lot smoother, since the injectors are cleaned throttle response is better too.

I prefer "Seafoam" I've read quite a few threads on many different enthusiast forums that say the cleaning power of seafoam is much greater than that of Techron.

So Techron is a fuel cleaner , so is it basically like a injector cleaner like the ones at checker auto parts?

NDF55, do you use the seafoam in the gas tank or via vacuum lines to the engine? If you do the proper way w/the vacuum lines- you must replace your sparkplugs afterwards. Too much of a headache imo.

In the gas tank, I agree with you putting it in through the vacuum line would be too much of a headache. But, I am curious as to why you feel the plugs need to be changed if i did decide to do it this way?

The seafoam will remove the carbon deposits which may and probably will reattach to the spark plugs thus fouling them. It's more preventative then anything. An oil change is also recommended if you add the seafoam to the oil for the same reason.

Just put a bottle of Techron for 20 gallon this morning. Hope will get better MPG and clean better. My car has already 76K, its about time to do some maintainance. Since the fuel filter can not be replace without replacing the gaz tank, I better use Techron every 3k miles.

OK, so when your pour the seafoam into the gas tank where does the carbon go when it's cleaned out of the fuel system? Does it go into the catalytic converters, and clog them up shortening thier lifespan? Or does it just get burned off?

Techron is strongly promoted and used in the Porsche circles, I would have no issues using it on my E55.

There are several strengths on the market. In addition, there is 'some' Techron in Texaco/Chevron gasoline.

What brand gasoline were you using before you ran a tank of Chevron though your car? 3 mpg is an impressive improvement.

I guess that is ok if cleaning is what you are looking for...
If you are looking for a best fuel for performance do not use Chevron w/Techron or Shell gas.
We tune/R&D(non MB) alot of stock/modified vehicles and cars that have Chevron/Shell make the least power. We recommend BP,Amoco, Sunoco, or Mobile. We have actually drained R&D vehicles tanks and replaced the fuel that had Shell gas in them because they made less horsepower than stock untuned.

+1 madgoat

Supra made 20+ more hp when I used mobile 1. My C6 made 11 more rwhp with Mobile as well.

Why do you think that is?
