Picking up a 05 amg and Iv been doing some research on here on doing basic mods.

I have never seen so much drama over tunes from you guys over any other car.

You read one thread and one tune is awesome,read another and it sucks.Then read another saying the stock tune made more power,or another tune locked out a ecu.I might just run a pulley on stock tune and see what happens

Im suprised there havnt been lawsuits on here,after reading some post,I dont feel safe buying any tune for my car.

can someone recomend a solid setup to run

If your willing to wait, I hold out on some of the hand held tuners. Should be 2 or 3 available with in a year. I run just a pulley and no tune with cat back exh. some cooling upgrades and the car runs very well.
Your right about the drama! plus the price of tunes is just plain stupid. They seem to be coming down but still....

I was just at my shop and the guy told me he has a guy that will put a tune on my car for 500,but I have no idea witch tune it is.

not to hijack the thread but that car you looked at skratch needs a bunch of work.. i looked at the car yesterday and had it brough to my mechanic today. just a heads up

really because i just brought it to my mechanic that also owns a e55 and works on very high end cars and the car only needs a ball joint.

He is working on a ferrari f40 thats worth about 400,000 dollars,and I trust him with my life.

Just curious on what needs to be done,the only problems were one rear door openor motor,ball joint,and one of the rotors had some rust in there,the tranny oil is very minimal and is nothing to worry about.

my mechanic told me he will do a pulley and tune on it and hes going to get back to me with what tune the other guy had that did his.

and how the heck do you know we looked at the same car?I dont have my location on my name on here

I saw in one of your other posts a VIN of a car you were looking at and noticed it was the same as the one i looked at.. I guess the pads were replaced on the brakes but it needs all new rotors, the rims look like they have hit every pot hole in america, needs new lower control arms, the tires are all mismatched and there are alot of dings and scratches, especially the gas cap is dented. might be a few other things i forgot.

Yea we noticed all that and agreed on a price point to fix all the little things.You made it sound like there were major problems ect.

I think if you will get Kleemann or Renntech you won't disappointed.

No nothing major just a bunch of small things.. They all add up though.. Did you end up purchasing the car?

Kinda pissees me off that you tried to take advantege of the kid not knowing alot about the car.All this time I thought the car didnt have the xenon lights,found out today that it does in fact have the lighting pkg.

ya too many miles... i feel a little better buying something from a dealer anyways.. ya i hope i can find a nice one for around 35..

Im in the Lowell area, still under warenty so may not upgrade it.
