AMG have a chance? 43PSI Supra!
I have been seeing this car about 3 times a week on freeway now for the last 7 months. Plates say, 43PSi and a few locals claim this car is the real deal! It is one damn nice looking black Supra. Of course , my phat AMG does not even seem to show up on his radar screen.
I was wondering; if day in and day out on the street and in 100 deg heat, can this car make this kind of power? I know that a lot of these cars have to do major set up changes to make this kind of power. Could he be rolling on 400 RWHP daily and 1050 on the dyno /track? 1200CC injectors and 3 fuel pumps is fighter jet territory.. Word is, the Supra belongs to the link below.

He will definitely not be running that much boost on the street unless he is crazy and runs race gas all the time. That being said he should make 650+whp on pump gas with that size turbo. Your only hope is to catch him on street tires from a low roll and then you let out before he gets tractions hehe. Or catch him at a low rpm and get out on him before the turbo spools and the let out lol Catch him off guard! Spool is gonna suck on that size turbo

sure he can.....he can run E85 and make that power on the street all day. idk if HE is though. my buddy is putting down 650+ on a dyno dynamics in AZ on E85 with his single turbo (i forget if its a 68 or 74 trim) and just got it running. he can simply adjust the boost to the setting he wants within a certain reasonable range (obviously can go lower, not higher lol) when he doesnt want to race itl

No chance...coming from a guy who was in the Supra scene when it was just an email list...before there was supraforums.
I don't think there are many modded 1990 and up cars that can hang with a single turbo supra or viper.

His page referenced a place on his car to hide the bottle, likely to spool the turbo from a dig. The turbo is not that large so my guess is that is spools faster than you think. I find it funny that he spent major bucks on some Carillo rods for the build and went cheap on the pistons (Wiseco). 43 psi would turn our OEM cast pistons into one helluva jigsaw puzzle!

So is it looks like the verdict is that the Supra can run 650RWHP plus on the street daily? Not trying to race him, just seeing if the car can be 43PSI strong 24-7-365. Hey, that is what it claims on the plate..
This car is not quiet either. It sounds about as close to an un-capped V8 as a 6 banger can get. When he nudges the gas at 80mph, it spews gas out the pipes (solid black smoke)..

Yes, that is why I was thinking I could have a purpose built street car for about 100K these day. Little class and a whole lot a purpose built ET!!!!

Speak for yourself, I don`t have those "helluva jigsaw puzzle pistons" you have but do have the Forged Wiseco`s for more boost...

I'm afraid you'd get trampled by this car. I doubt he runs 43 psi all the time since the motor wouldn't make it to 10,000 miles. I'm building a turbo motor for a project car right now and will later install a two-stage electronic boost controller to run the "street gas" first stage for normal cruising (around 10 psi) and then up the ante for the second stage at ~13-15 psi when I want to dump in race gas and/or methanol.

Supras are not cheap, and insinuating as much, shows a lack of knowledge about the car.
A 1997 Supra will cost about 10k more than a 2003 CL55.

Underground Racing Lambos are Dyno queens. That one probably cost more like 300k.

I know exactly what these antique Supras cost and go for thses days. If I thought the car was a cheap POS, then I would not have took the time to even post about the car.. To be honest, at 6-6" tall, I don`t pay a whole lot of attention to cars that I can not even get my leg into " lol" but still gave this one a good mention..
PS, cheap is relavant but Value is what it is all about..

As suspected. This post was not about a street race or what if between my CL.. Read my opening post.. Kareem is a well known by many in Texas and maybe even the best know Supra in this 30mill person state.. If he is able to run near full boost daily, then not many street cars in the country can touch him. He also drives this car (I assume to work) almost everyday. Not being a Supra expert, I was curious if they can maintian 1000 hp daily or maybe way de-tuned during daily heat driving.

I'm a longtime member of Supraforums myself and I'll have to say Kareems car devours pretty much anything for snacks as much as I love AMG, the MKIV Supra was the car that made me take my knowledge about cars to another level. It's still at the highest on a short list of my favorites ever made...A long time back I saw a few roll racing videos when he had his 74GTS setup (made 901rwhp btw) of his car and he shot out like a bat out of hell in all of them.
You'll be up against this... This was when he had the GT47-80mm with 5 inch downpipe/midpipe and 5inch exhaust ,fuel, built engine, etc. This was on boost alone:

Yes the car did 1,352AWHP on all boost 32psi but If I'm not mistaken UGR's Gallardos hold the fastest 60-130mph I've ever seen of 3.53 seconds verified, and did 9.11@169mph at the strip on Toyo R888s. I think the TT AWD Gallardos and highly built Protomotive/EVOMS Porsches are some of the baddest street cars that can race from a roll and dig in full street environments and decimate many.

Can't he run full boost all the time, but simply not take it into the RPM range where that boost actually makes that power? If you just DD a 43psi-boosted engine, you'll have more than enough power to commute while never going over 4000-4500 RPM.
Which highways do you see this car on?
