new E55 AMG owner (east-coast)
My 10-month quest is over; just bought this 2005 E55 AMG this past week with 18k miles. I bought it from an awesome/legendary board member 
I would like to thank the creator and members of this forum for the wealth of information that is contained within (my buying choices were based solely on advice/opinions/facts from MBWorld.org)!!
I must say within 5 minutes in the passenger seat of this car, I was instantly converted. This is my first German car and I must say everything about this E55 goes beyond any expectations or preconceived notions I may have had. I will never buy another Japanese car again, period.
I come from the world of boosted STI’s, Evo’s, and Supra’s and the semi-luxury spectrum of Lexus GS’ and ES’. Just the general idea for the price of a fully loaded VW GTI, Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, etc . . . one can have possibly the best production sedan ever?!
Looking forward to talking/meeting fellow members of this forum!! I am just outside of Philadelphia, PA.

congrads........i also purchased one about three months ago after many months of searching. of course now its in the shop for 9,000 dollars worth of work after somebody sideswiped me.
