Another Fluid MotorUnion/ PowerChip E55 Dyno!

Along with a few other cars I have been posting recently we had an E55 in for a custom reflash at the event!

The car had a pretty impressive mod list consisting of:

Evosport Shorty headers
Evosport cooling package
172mm pulley
Carbon intake box
80mm TB

When he arrived we reflashed his car back to stock which is the low number you see then after a flash we were on our way. A few runs in we noticed it was warming up a little quick so we tossed the car on the rack and noticed his intercooler pump wasn't kicking on due to a connection issues. After that issue was resolved we went on to completing the flash and came out with a pretty satisfying end result!

Let me know if anyone has any questions!

So the car picked up 70whp with just your tuning? Is that 419whp with the pulley or a stock run

good numbers for a 172 pulley either way

The base numbers were with all of the mods just stock maps. The tuned number was all of the listed mods with the flash customized!

Big thanks to Jeremy and U guys there at FluidUnion! I finally feel like she's running healthy now. My last experience with Evosport was not a good one. They actually charged me to remove my limiters from a previous flash I purchased from them! When I questioned why I had to pay for something that should have been done already, I was given no reply. Then when I get the ECU back, it runs worse than when I sent it in. I really thought that I was going to have to get rid of her! Nothing like experiencing what it should run like, and then falling on it's face! Jeremy definitely made things right, with no questions asked. He actually made me feel like it was his car that he was personally tuning! Thanks again!

Aren't these numbers a little low for intake, headers, pulley, tb, and a tune?

thats what i thought also, way to low for a car with those mods.I thought that was a stock base run,how can a car with headers, pulley tb and cooling only put down 419? thats stock e55 power

edit I just re read it,talk about trying to boost your numbers, the car dynod, then flashed back to stock, then had a bad pump, then fixed all that and retuned for final numbers.

Why not just post up the car with its old tune and healhy pump and then the after with your tuning, what you did was make his car put down low numbers then show the best case with your tune and healthy pump.

That's Powa Chip 4 ya! LOL Seriously, flashing car to stock then dynoing it & using #'s w/IC pump not hooked up/working properly as base then fixing IC connection & adding latest file is recockulous...Nice padding guys

Agree that the improperly wired IC pump probably dropped the baseline to an artificially low level... but that can't be blamed on Fluid (unless they did the install prior for this same customer). Kudos to them diagnosing and fixing the issue on the spot, delivering a satisfactory result to the client.

Focusing on just the end result, 490 rwhp and 555 rwtq is impressive for a Dyno Dynamics, isn't it? Especially since it's a 172mm pulley (i.e. not a 180mm)

Our dyno is extremely low reading guys, A bone stock E55 put down just over 365 from the factory. secondary cat, resonator delete, and ASP 180mm pulley put him at just over 430whp.

So Dave's tuned numbers are pretty impressive for our dyno taking into consideration what we have seen E55's do on here in the past.

Real Cars
serge, et. al.

490rwhp on Dyno Dynamics is extremely impressive for an E55. rberga1, with VRP600, pulled 460rwhp on DD and his car ran mid 11s at 123ish MPH (if I recall correctly)

The highest Dave (the guy who's car made this pull) ever dyno'd before his custom tune (basically, with off the shelf EVOSport software) was in the 450rwhp range, also on Dyno Dynamics. So even over that, it's still another 40rwhp.

My SL65 did 487rwhp on Dyno Dynamics (it's very healthy). RENNTech/Kleemann/etc 600s do around 460 on Dyno Dynamics.

Dyno Dynamics is NOT Dynojet, and the DD in the Bay Area that you use and Alan uses reads a lot higher than the two DDs (and any other one I've seen) here in Chicago.

Congrats on the killer #s Dave.

Come on buddy stop beating this drum, that Hussain guy w/latest S600 Jeremy tune Dynoed BONE STOCK on your same Dynodynamics & got 450 RWHP 560 RWTO on two SEPERATE occasions, (his S600 is NO freak, he had Boost monitored on Pre-Post runs, STOCK runs were @ 13-14 PSI Stock, Then tuned @ 19+PSI) those are EXACT Highend readings found on ANY Dynojet, 450 RWHP 560 RWTO have been reported by nearly every single STOCK V12 600TT put on DynoJets.

Post tune his S600 put down 490 RWHP 660 RWTO on your EXACT SAME Dynodynamics, you say
RENNTech/Kleemann/etc 600s do around 460 on Dyno Dynamics.
How do you account for Hussains S600 results? nothing unseen before on Dynojet's for tuned S600's etc...

This part about Alan's E55 dynoing higher than your precious Ball-Breaker-Dyno is getting laughable (if you are referring to another Alan in Bay area, I apologize)

I've seen higher DynoJet readings for the E55's but, your constantly comparing ANY/ALL 600/65 models on this particular Dynodynamics is pointless

I would take any numbers from a tuner with a bag of salt,as you can see this tuner clearly went out of his way to decieve the numbers and make a run that would yeld low numbers. Why would you waste time throwing a stock tune on a modded car that is for one not safe for the engine and dyno it?

Second the car had a bad pump and you still put it on the dyno to get your base numbers to compair it to from your retune.Niceeeee

I dont care what type of dyno it is anyone can make any dyno read higher or lower, post up the raw data on the run with no correction factors in play.

If this is infact a DynoDynamics what are the shoot out numbers?

just because its a DD dyno dosnt mean you cant change the CF to make it read different.

You can make a DynoDynamics read just like a dynojet if you want.

edit on a side note about stock mapping, once the ecu is flashed back all adaptations are zero and the car will make more power as it adapts, hence the more and more power it got with more runs, enless you drove the car for a week with the stock tune then dynod it,this base line is a waste.

FWIW, They did not imediately dyno my car when I got there. True my car did dyno in July/07, on a totally different DYNO DYNAMICS at another local shop, at 453.9! This was after my mods had been installed w/evo tune. It wasnt until earlier this year that I found out that EVOsport did not remove my limiters. Upon sending my ECU back to them, the car was running even worse! I expalined this to Jeremy, and he was nice enough to take a look at my car. When I arrived he said lets just flash it back to stock and start from there. It really didn't matter, to me, where it was # wise at that time, because it wasnt running right anyway! He flashed it and that was the 419 that is in red. From there, he flashed it with the first tune and it was 440's. Another flash got it to 460's. Thats when they saw the temps. They took it off and rewired the pump to run continuously with ignition, instead of the relay telling it when to turn on. And bam! There it was 490! Don't know how to better explain. 490rwhp @ 18% drivetrain loss equates to 597.5 at crank. My car was running with Z06's at the 453rwhp at 119mph and 11.56eta. Best run ever was 11.28 right after my frst tune with no intake.

Sean,

Hussain has dyno'd high on two different Dyno Dynamics, Fluid's and CPTs. This year alone I've seen 3 other 600s dyno (on DDs) and no one has come close to his. His 600 is a freak as far as I can tell.

Post tune his S600 put down 490 RWHP 660 RWTO on your EXACT SAME Dynodynamics, you say How do you account for Hussains S600 results? nothing unseen before on Dynojet's for tuned S600's etc...
Refer to above.

This part about Alan's E55 dynoing higher than your precious Ball-Breaker-Dyno is getting laughable
My precious ball-breaker-dyno? Have you been drinking or something? People are bashing Dave's numbers as being low, and I'm posting my experience that they are not low for the dynos here. I refered to the dyno in Cali because serge uses that dyno and compared to that particular DD, our numbers here might seem low. There was another 180mm pulley/cat delete/etc car that did 430rwhp at Fluid.

Furthermore, Fluid and CPT are two separate shops, about 40 miles from each other. Both have DDs, except CPTs is still running the old DOS based control, and Fluid has a Windows controller.

You really need to chill bro, you get real excited about things and start talking crazy without knowing the point someone is trying to make.

I've seen higher DynoJet readings for the E55's but, your constantly comparing ANY/ALL 600/65 models on this particular Dynodynamics is pointless
I quote 55/600/65 numbers for context Sean, and it isn't for THIS particular Dyno Dynamics, it's for DYNO DYNAMICS in general. I don't think you quite understand that there are TWO different DDs in question here that I have dealt with... Fluid's and CPTs. Different shops. Different machines. Different operators, same Dyno type.

It's a stout E55 no doubt, the info should've been decimated the you describe above vs FluidMotorunion write-up, so in ALL fairness the ACTUAL Retune gained around 15-20 RWHP considering 440's on old file then 460's w/new flash w/IC pump not wired to run continuously.

Finally 490 rwhp AFTER IC Pump set to run continuously, looks like major gains of 30 odd RWHP were from the IC wiring

You guys will be hearing from me soon.

Can you send me a PM with some base pricing info for the PowerChip plus some expected dyno costs for a tune?

Awesome work!
