TIME SLIP OF THE FIRST STOCK E55 TO HIT 119MPH

As requested by Juicee, here is a copy of my timeslip. I realize that my 60' was bad (my worst of the night) but I had just run a 1.81 60' and a 12.07@118.645 so I was jacked and was trying to break into the 11's and as you see I had the stage to myself and....

Thx again Mo, I'm going to switch to DR's the next time out so maybe they will allow me to get into the gas sooner so only time will tell, to get another .773 mph while it may seem small I don't know if it is possible maybe if the DA is somewhere in the neighborhood of 0-500 and with the addition of the 17" DR's then maybe? but that would be absolutely

No worries..... winter is coming soon and you guys may be getting -500 to -1000 ft at Sacramento You should definitely give the 17" a try, it's worth a shot.

This illustrates clearly what we have been saying .
A bad 60 ft time, spinning those rears then biting helps the car produce more hp.

Amazing how much speed your car attains the back 1/8th mile 27 mph. If you want 120 your gonna have to sacrifice the 60ft and use the same tires on a slightly cooler day.

Im amazed quite frankly at the 119 trap, amazed.

The tire spin that I had wasn't as it may seem it was your basic quick screech and off she went?? maybe that was enough. On another run I had a 1.99 60' (tried to roll into the throtle) onto a 12.33@118.845 with no screech which was slower than my run of 2.03 onto a 12.31@119.227. My best run was 1.81 60' onto a 12.07@118.657 with no screech.

also just a note the 12.07@118.657 run was 5 min before the 12.31@119.227 run which was 30min before the 12.3@118.845 run. Maybe I should have made another run sooner than 30min

I think the extra rotation got you to 119s at the end of the track. Your car seems to top out at 118.66-118.85. Perhaps a nice long rest would get you to 120. The cooler the IAT's the more hp. No way was your car cooled when you are hitting the mid 118's. So really you have a very healthy consistant car. Your really not spinning the way I would think to produce trap gains. a 2.03 is decent. a 2.3-2.5 would likely get you to 120 as well.

Your stock 55 is a missle

You may be right about the mid 118 thing because last time you were at the track with me I ran 1.83 60' onto a 12.12@118.61 so that may be it for me. I'll take a 11.8x@118.5 anyday of the week. The 119 is great but there are only 5 or 6 guys atleast as far as dragtimes list that have run into the 11's and I want to be part of that list. I would love to run 11.770 to edge out big "E" but then if it is done on DR's there will be that debate of whether or not it is stock? I don't think I would care, 11.770 stock on DR's is how I would call it!

You and me both need 11's so badly. Im 2 years into this and 12.07 is where im stuck.

You have a great chance but its gonna require a 1.7 60 ft time in a good DA.
Your right there man with a slightly better 60 ft time. If it makes ya feel better a drag radial that is DOT approved and same sized as the stock tire or within 10mm or less is stock to me. Just a different tire. Enzom's run was on a wider tire, and I do consider the PS2 in a 275 stock although it is not OEM spec.

Enzom has been the king for so long, his ET may never be touched but we always knew you had a capable car, and looks like you can press this further.

I watched MikeAMG cut 1.65 60's on Friday night and if I can learn to launch the car like that on DR's and just on reducing my 60' by .16 would put me atleast at a 11.91 which in the end may result in an Enzom type of run.

Yep. I bet if you cut a 1.65 you will be in the 11.75-11.8 range , watch

To be fair to Enzom, I don't think your run would be considered 100% stock on drag radials. And although you wouldn't have added any "power mods" to the engine, drag radials and 17" smaller rims are still modding the car in some way to gain performance in the E.T. category. Enzom achieved his records on stock wheels with almost stock tires. The reason I say almost stock tires is because some early 2003 E55 models actually shipped with pilot sport tires.

That being said, I truly believe that your car has 11s in it as it sits..... If you correct your run down to -500 ft, your 12.07 run turns to high 11s. This is basically telling us that with good weather conditions, and all other factors remaining the same (same car, same driver, same track, same prep, etc.... ), your car is capable of 11s. Of course you'd have to run the actual time, but I really do think your car can do it. Also, notice that track prep at Sacramento is not the greatest especially for street tires. Better track prep will also yield you better ET.

So just wait till winter comes it may happen at Alan's next track event or at least at Famoso this November

Amazing trap!

Could you tell how did you launch? Brake torque? What rpm were you holding?

I know that some will say not to but I do anyway, I now launch at 1000 and roll into the throttle fairly quick any quicker with street tires and you will spin and the esp will cut in. I have hit 1.81 quite a few times doing it this way. I hold at 1000 and wait for the light to go green and go when I'm ready.

seriously try launching from idle if you want that 11. i used to cut consistent 1.71 60ft times on street tires this way and i know that's how enzom launched as well.

Hey Mikey, I've tried that before but my car has/had a slight hesitation when launching from idle.

Hopefully the October event will happen and master shifu (Chiromikey) will be there giving us guidance. Mike has helped me a ton on getting my launch better and any advice should be considered when coming from him. The biggest concern will be traction at Sacramento raceway, like always.

I've seen the other guys do it but they will all tell you, I have never iced my car. I pop the hood and let the air cool it down up to the point where the guy tells me to get ready to stage my car. I hear it helps to ice, someday I will try it.

I gained 2mph and the only thing diffrent was to ice down the supercharger for an hour. granted I was not even close to 119, lol but I went fron 113 to 115 and then back to 113. Figued that was proff enough that it works.
