Anyone tried engine oil flush?
In another thread, I discussed noisy lifters on my E63. A mechanic friend suggested to add a good quality engine flush (BMW makes a good product) to my oil before the next oil change to "free up" the noisy lifters.
Has anyone tried this? Does MB have a engine flush product? I searched and found nothing. Any advise would be appreciated.

Personally, I think it's highly unlikely it's the lifters and I REALLY doubt you'll see any improvement with an additive. Take it to the dealer.

This place is a joke.
There is no need to flush the engine unless it's sludged...If the proper oil, factory filters, and time/mileage intervals were followed the engine should be nice and clean inside. A 63 with noisey "lifters" has other problems, and not uncommon for that motor.

Feel free to disreguard the advise here and flush away.
Or you can do a search here and see for your self, that you are not the first.
BTW Your mechanic has no idea of what he is doing.

My valves were noisy with am soil and Mobil 0 40
I changed to motul 5 40
Valves are now quiet at start up and possibly increased mileage 1 to 1.5 mpg
Changed to oem air filters at the same time though
