Thanks for the phone call Tom. I'll just log my run the next time I hit the track to get the best possible clean run or try and find a 2% decline . Is there a way to tell how much tire slippage I had by G's? I spoke with Drew (M3 owner) and he mentioned something about checking the G's. Thanks again Tom and I'll wait until I get a clean run in before I post my 60-130 times. Hopefully I'll be somewhere around 7.5-7.7.

Guys,
After you record your runs there is an "acceleration" icon in the middle of the graph information. If you don't already have it set to record the 60-130mph you can have the program do it for you. Just click on that button and at the bottom of the options it lists "custom" and you can put in the 60mph as starting and 130 as ending and it will give you that information in a graph automatically. Dont' try to find it and get it yourself. You won't be accurate enough. Good luck and be safe at those speeds!!

Are you the one that kept out launching my Blue 335i Coupe at Famoso last weekend? LOL. Well I guess thats AWD against a car without even a limited slip! Although, my totally quiet, fully catted, stock exhaust, stock intercooler, stock turbo 335i manages a 60-130mph in 9.9 seconds I just did this yesterday and just sent the DBN files into Jason so the results can be posted.

Amazingly, on my way home, this car averaged 31.3 mpg from below the Grapevine to Ventura County (90 miles).

I should have some 60-130 data this weekend. I'll send you my files Jason regardless of the outcome. Would a track run be ideal or is it better going from 30-40 to prevent the extra heat that might go into a car from a dig?

I simply do a qtr mile run, and just keep going until the 130mph buzzer beeps that I set on the Vbox.

Fastest stock 335i per dragtimes=13.2@104. Let's say a 4.8 0-60, right ? So this implies 8.4 seconds 60-104. So, you must have a factory freak , since it can pick up an additional 26mph in 1.5 seconds.

Time to get the box recalibrated. In reality it will take the car at least 15 seconds to go from 60-130. See
http://www.roadandtrack.com/assets/d...R_BMW_335i.pdf

Also note that your stock 335 manages to outpace the M6 on this list

My car is not stock, see my signature. Just stock exhaust/cats/intercooler/etc.

My car also runs in the 11's. My best 0-60 this last weekend at Bakersfield was 3.7 seconds.

Better yet, here is a video describing my mods, and showing a low 12' second run, on street tires with a second gear launch, fighting traction:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RLQZCZC1JR8

Here is a 60-130 mph list of some popular cars:

9.5 - Porsche 997TT
9.78-BMW 335i JB3 Hotrod 182
10.06 - 996TT with ECU flash / 1 shift
10.1 - Ferrari F430
10.3 BMW 135I, JB3 BMS
10.3 - BMW M6, stock, 2 shifts
10.48 - BMW E60 M5, stock, 2 shifts
10.48 - C63 AMG with headers and flash
10.80 - BMW E92 M3, Bolt Ons, DCT, 3 shifts
10.9 - Lamborghini Murcielago
10.97 - Nissan GT-R
11.02 - BMW RDS46 Stroker E92 M3, 6mt, 2-shifts
11.0 - Shelby GT500, stock, 2-shifts
11.7 - Ferrari Challenge Stradale
11.87 -997 GT3 RS
12.1 - Lamborghini Gallardo
12.1 E55 AMG Stock
12.2 - 996tt stock
12.64 - Stock DCT E92 M3
12.9 - Stock 6MT E92 M3 Coupe
13.7 - Stock E46 M3 (freak car) / 1 shift
14.3 - Stock E39 M5 / 1 shift

So I'm not quite sure what your question is, but just let me know if you need more clarification. Secondly the Vbox does not need recalibration. I take it to the track and compare it to the timeslips, and I have run another one next to mine, as accurate as you can get.

Stock or modded E55? A passanger will hurt your time quite a bit!

Hey Sean, not a problem, just text me when you want to come down.
You can actually do the 1/4 mile run and 60-130 on the same run.

Edit, I just did some test runs this morning. Got it down to 9.78 seconds.

Also, my 0-100mph is also quicker than the 556HP Supercharged 6.0L CTS-V. Not too bad for a little 335i. Next time we do some testing, I would love to run the CTSV that Drew ran.

Jason,
Managed an 8.46 run last week. Scott has verified and posted on 6speedonline. Let me know if you still need the file. Little "C" gets a little faster.

Wow, how is your car so much faster than other C63's? Do you have any internal engine work done besides just bolt ons?

I don't think I will get much faster than 9.5sec with simple bolt-ons, totally stock exhaust and stock turbos !

Edit: My best in run tonight was 9.54 seconds.

I have not read the entire thread, but is everyone figuring their time the same way? Is everyone taking measurements during standing start runs where they are accelerating right through 60, or are people finding an open run, rolling at 60, downshifting and flooring it. Seems to me that you get a world of difference in measurements if cars are doing it differently.

Ahmad, if you want to get together sometime and do some runs, let me know. I snuck out the other morning for a few runs, but didn't have much luck..road was too damp to get any traction. I hit it one time anyway and only got a 7.86 on low boost.

Yea that sounds good. Let me know next time you go out. Its getting really cold out and traction is an issue. I like how it's "only" 7.86 on low boost I would be ecstatic. But I guess I'm always on low boost

Just like times at the track, there are a ton of different factors that can affect 60-130mph times...especially weather conditions. The colder the weather, the better the times are as speed builds. However, the colder the weather..the more I spin...even above 60mph...

I usually go from a slow roll and then stomp on the throttle and let the car downshift by itself. My best run was done starting at just under 29mph. I try to get all my spinning done before the car hits 60mph (sometimes my car just doesn't want to go along with the program). I haven't tried to optimize which gear I start in and maybe cut out a shift. I think that technique is better suited for a more "manual-type" transmission with more gears.

Tom
