E 63 AMG S 4MATIC - 704 PS / 1050 Nm
Question polished/chromed wheels

Hi guys!

At first I want U to excuse me for my bad english.

I am an owner of the new E 55 AMG and now I want to buy 19" wheels.

I thought about the new 2-piece Styling IV from AMG

8,5" x 19" and 10" x 19" which are for the SL 55

Now my question: are those wheels allowed in Germany on my W211 E 55 AMG?

And is it possible to get those wheels polished or chromed directly from AMG?
Or have I to get them polished by a "tuner"?
Is it also allowed to drive with polished wheels on german streets?

Look at this picture how they look like polished:

Another question:
Does anyone where I can get RACING HEART WHEELS in Germany?
I mean the Racing Heart C4 (here a pic)

thanks for Your information!!!!!
(sorry for my english)

There are separate AMG Double Spoke 2 Piece wheels for the W211. You do not and can not used the wheels designed for the SL R230. The 2 Piece Styling IV wheels are:

19X8.5 et30
19X9.5 et31

Every so often I have to go to the AMG site and remind myself why I'm spending THIRTY SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS on a set of wheels... and then I look at 'em 'on' the car and... even at $5600 I'd probably still do it. I cannot WAIT to see my car with those wheels on.... now I just pray Melanite Black is somewhat close to Jade Black....

What if your Mom does not like the harsher ride from the low profile tires? The ride will be considerably different, especially if you are going from 16 to 18".

How much did they cost and where?

Hmm... If she does not like the ride, i might have to sell them...
I bought those wheels for 1,400 Euro without tires. If you buy them from MB Germany, it will cost more than 2,000 Euro.
Hopefully the ride won't be too bad, because i really think the rims go with the car.

Those are Megrez rims from MB in size 8*16 with winter tires.
We still have those stock summer wheels in size 7,5x16... away too small eh?

Doing a Plus-2 upgrade and riding on 18 inch rims takes a somewhat different driving approach and awareness in my opinion. Your Mom or any driver needs to realize that the side wall is much much shorter and the car will not be as comfortable, more noisey inside and out. Most important - driving over mundane road debris, potholes takes a new meaning with 18" wheels versus running over everything with the regular 16's.

Without this new driving 'awareness' the chances of bending those rims and cutting sidewalls are greater. You really have to watch what you drive over with extremely low profile tires.

If you like the AVS Sport go for it. However, most AMG cars have:

Michelin Pilot Sport
Dunlop SP Sport 9000

I doubt that you need new bolts. Have the installer double check the lengths. Good Luck
