Vibration in rear when slowng down

very slight vibration in the rear of the E55, happens when slowing down from high speed, e.g hold it in 3rd gear (manual mode) at 80mph with out accelerating or pressing the brakes, basically using the gears to slow down.

Any one else get this.............diff, prop shaf, flex joints or possibly exhaust but dont really here any noises or knocks.

cheers

Could be a lot of things but check the transmisison mount first. Motor mounts also cause vibration and consider road force balancing all tires.

found it and getting it repaired very soon.

Hope I have not damaged anything else whilst I have been driving it, like the gearbox-propshaft-diff.

Difficult to see - did something get caught around the propshaft - or did the rubber connection fail?

rubber flexi disc has come apart, this is made up of a mixture of rubber rope/string internally.

Fixed and now I am able to drive without the flexi joint bolts hitting the rear diff.

But their is still a vibration under the car at around 50mph and also the engine is knocking/banging very hard on the passenger side from a standstill when kicking down. (feels like the sub frame is coming away from the car)

Parked the car up until engine mounts are replaced.........getting fed up with the recent purchase of this e55......................... its possible to crack major components, like the exhaust manifolds, so best to leave it before theirs more damage caused.

Took mine to MB dealer, replaced both engine mounts/trans mount/rear flex disc and prop center bearing. But there is still a rear vibration that shakes the whole car on light acceleration between 35mph and 55mph. Floor it and no problem

tech said it might be a problem with the diff as it feels like there is resistance in the drive train when this is happening. Its not a constant vibration, as if its building up friction on and off......and then when I step on the gas hard it goes away (but I cant drive like that all the time)

Transmission shifts are perfectly timed up and down/manual mode is great, but with a slight clunk on light acceleration, could this still be a problem with the transmission or torque convertor................anyone had these problems ????????????????

I have this vibration/shutter under moderate to heavy accelleration 70 mph-90+.. THEN after the car has been parked, it leaks diff fluid in the garage. (only after being driven for longer drive or more aggressive driving) Just had it in to have the side axle seals replaced.. as this was something it was doing prior. Problem still there, but its not leaking out of the side seals... Anyone have anything similar happen? 2004 E55 82K MILES.
