My 06 does it also. I have taken mine in for a 3rd time this week for this issue. My car would pop when I turn the wheel, also when driving slow I would hear a noise also. It has been at MB all week so I'll let you know ...

mine is cpo as well and they want to charge a diagnosis fee and if warranty covers it they wont charge??? if it is a adjustment etc. there is a charge.
amazing when you buy these the cpo is sold as just an extension of the original warranty..mine goes in monday.

Well I just found out they won't "ok" a "heard a noise" fix. They inspected everything and looked fine. Now they did find out my AC was broken and immediately paid for it. So I take it the 1st lesson is you need to make sure something is broken before aftermarket warranty will fix it. I have Fidelity FWIW.

I haven't tried turning the wheel with the car off yet, but on cold mornings the wheel will "stick" briefly close to center when turning left and right while backing out of my driveway. It's been doing the same thing for the last 13,000 miles. Once I turn it a few times the sticking goes away. I'll try to remember to turn it without the car on tomorrow and report back.

Guess this is becoming a popular issue. I also experience a faint pop intermittenly when the car: 1) hits a small bump 2) make small steering adjustments 3) brake or coming off of braking. Thanks for the input, I will have the steering rack checked out.
