Body shops usually just say they need to remove the bumper so they can charge you more. I went to two different body shop to install my E63 diffuser and both wanted to charge me $200+ to remove the bumper and put it back on when of course was not neccessary. The best thing to do is get detailed installation instructions from the maker and try it follow it to the letter.

I bought it from JBSpeed and there is no instruction inside. I just read some from Vader55 and others, few people did remove the trunk and Vader55 didnt....

Just take it to HMS (sponsor here). They're in Westminister, so not too far from you.

I just install it without removing the bumper. There is a issue with the DF.
The left side of DF stick ok with the bumper but the right side, there are a gap of 1cm. The DF is not very even made. The right side is not very match to the bumper. But I had no choice ..... so just screw in and double tape it. I will take few pix later tonight..... damn....

The original oneis only double taped with the bumper. When u peal that off, u will see the original color bumper. Its just a simple black plastic double taped in the bumper..........

1cm is a non issue....You need to use a screw at each end of the DF shooting upward into the body and that will suck it tight. The diffuser will easily bend into place at the ends if that is where this tiny 1cm gap is you are talking about. I give some detail on how the original comes off and how I put mine on here.

I kinda understand what you mean but at the end of the DF, how can u drill and put screw ? the exhaust pipe is there, there is no room.....
We put 6 screw in the center of DF so its very strong, for sure not going to fall but the end of DF we put some double tape, the same kind for the trunk spoiler but the 1 cm gap so its not sticking together... pls help !

I have this diffuser and it will require screws.

Yes, you need to remove your old diffuser. Start from one side and use a wedge to peel it away from the bumper.

You don't need to remove your bumper to install a diffuser.

Make sure and use screws that are long enough. Duhh... I know but, you'd be surprised.

Max,
If I understand well, I need to screw from the DF to the bumper up which is screwing up top ? if so, the screw will be visible from outside right ? Will it break it ? i am talking by the end of the DF which is the narrow part.

From what I know, they aren't a sponsor...

They installed my Vorsteiner rear diffuser and they had no problem!
