Dyno'd Saturday on Dynojet.. only put down 376hp and 434tq -- dyno videos inside

They said my car was running a bit rich. Would spark plugs factor into my power ? Car has 49k on it with original plugs. Other thoughts could I have been strapped down too tight ?

Only mods are K&N and X-pipe. The humidity was high 67% / 29.68Hg and there was a low pressure system over the city.

They pulled a file from a 2003 E55 that did 366 and 435 so my 2006 was better. Maybe this dyno just runs low. I did the runs in dyno mode, ecu reset and 3rd gear then one in 4th gear.

My buddies modified Z06 did 525 and a month previous he did 545 on a mustang dyno.

Also his IS-F dyno'd the exact same power as a year previously and he added full exhaust with no cats and intake.

Anyways it was still fun hitting the speed limiter.

hmm, seems kinda low. I noticed you didn't have your hood up. Was the fan at least on? I'm guessing it was a hot run. How many pulls did you get?

I ran that same dyno last year and my numbers were higher. But slower at the track.

last run in 4th was highest. Hood Stayed down and I hope the fans were on.... can't remember was too busy jamming the gas.

Next time I will dyno with another E55 there so we can compare.

Your hp numbers are low but torque is very good. You've got to leave the hood up with a supercharged car, and no hot runs. Give it 10-20 minutes between pulls if the shop will let you and bring plenty of ice to help cool the blower and throttle body between pulls. The place I dyno at usually hooks me up with 3 hurricane-strength shop fans.

Nice, thanks for the vids.

I know everyone likes to see 400 plus hp but you are within normal range at 380/430 and yes the car likely was too hot when you did the pull.

Get to the track and run her , bet she does just fine.

Dyno number, here's my take on it....don't worry about it. I dynode on 2 different dyno's and my results were over 100 hp and 100 tq between the two. One was a dyno dynamics and the other was a Mustang dyno. If the car feels and drives strong just take the numbers for what it is....numbers. The best as you know would be the track. There are many cars out there that see high dyno numbers that often get disappointed at the track. More and more often we are starting to see much higher dyno numbers, including myself. We see a ton of stage 1's hitting over 500 rwhp now but with no track results...time will tell if this is indeed true.

BTW...my friend MikeAMG was a stage 1 which only dynode 440 rwhp on a dynojet but still ran a 11.55x at 123+.

If this is a very conservative dyno, and it was hot and humid inside the shop when you dynoed, then your numbers are within normal range. I've seen healthy E55s put down numbers anywhere from 400 to 435 whp in decent conditions, so I would expect 20 to 25 whp lost due to bad conditions. The only other thing that maybe affecting the numbers is your IC pump. If it's starting to fail, the car will lose power.

Next time let the car cool down, open the hood and try to do it on a nice cool day and compare the numbers.
