Is it really a 2 year wait as indicated on ebay?

I'm going to guess that deal will fall apart. Anyone who wants to get on the phone can find a dealer with considerably less than a two year wait.

A fool and his money.............

Thumbs down

Sounds like a crock to me. Anyone who would think to sell such a thing would surely be capable of phonying up an ebay auction to "establish" a market price.

Me too!

I'd like to have the a supercharged E55 but I will wait until after the mid-model update like the difference between 1999 E55 and 2000 E55.

The next generation of direct injection engines may also be available then.

Even though it states the final price is $20.1k, it might not be sold for that price or at all. There's always some individuals out there thinking it's the price for the car itself no matter how many times there is a disclaimer saying it's for the waitlist allocation for the car.

I'm really sorry for you guys in the US. I received my SL 55 4 months after placing the order in May last year (without optioning first) and it only took so long because the individual designo interieur took an additional 6 weeks. Furthermore, I got a 12% discount.

For my CLK 55, which I ordered in February (again without optioning first), I have to wait 6 weeks and got a 13% discount...

Ronald,

Do all German citizens get a discount? What was the cost of your car after your disccount.

THanks

Well, it depends how good the relationship with your dealer is and how hard you negotiate.

I've been a little bit unfair: I asked my dealer a lot of tough detail questions (designo active and AMG Manufaktur related) to which he gave me the wrong answers. Afterwards I confroted his superiors with the correct answers from AMG (which I had in writing) and complained massively. Furthermore I arrived in an M3 which I had just borrowed from the local BMW dealer for a test drive. Suddenly my discount jumped from 8% to 13%

I would say the average discount in Germany is somewhere between 5-8 %. But some of our members even got discounts up to 30+ % (i.e. last year for an 'old' E 55 which has been standing in a showroom for a while and had to be sold because of the arrival of the new E 55).

Everything's relative, Ronald.
The poor souls in Australia are paying 180% of what we pay in the States for an E55.
Sounds as if the tax situation in Denmark and Hong Kong makes the price even higher there than in Australia.

List price for the CLK 55 Coupé (W 209) without options: 66,000.00 Euro (+ 16% VAT)

Total price including options: 75,460.00 Euro (+ 16% VAT)

Basically I didn't have to pay for my huge option list due to the discount. The VAT doesn't apply for me since it's declared as a company car.

YOU ARE BIDDING ON THE ALLOCATION/ORDER SPOT, YOU WILL STIIL BE REQUIRED TO PAY THE DEALER MSRP WHEN THE VEHICLE ARRIVES, DONT FOOL YOURSELF INTO THINKING YOU ARE GETTING A 76000.00 VEHICLE FOR COUPLE OF GRAND!!! PLEASE FOR EVERYBODY SAKE DO NOT BID ON THIS CAR UNLESS YOU PLAN ON PAYING MORE THAN STICKER FOR IT!!!!!!

The bidding is only at $820 with 6 hours to go.

In my home country, Indonesia, a well equipped S500 would be around US$ 220-240 grands....and...I think it is out the door... if not, just add another 10% for tax... :-)

How lucky I am to be in USA... :-)

I would wait. The new E55 is awesome, but not for $100K.

Base price is $76,000.
Fully optioned (with nav once available) looks like max price will be right around $92,000.

Wowww....maybe I should start saving some money for the E55...LOL :-)
So...if 92,000 is the retail, I would say $100,000 out the door.
Hope my dealer wouldn't mark up the E55's price.
