Short version of a long story, I had the command replaced in my car after the body shop damaged it, I think they put an 07 or earlier command in my 08. Ok, so 08 people, when you go to adjust the balance, what does this screen look like? 07 people? Mine USED to have cross hairs and show and overview of the car, now it just goes left to right and doesn’t show an overview of the car. Ok, I am going to go tape my in the different years and also find out for myself. There are other reasons I think they changed it as well, MP3 discs, CD drawer malfunctions, lots of stuff.

Is it POSSIBLE? To get an 09 command working in an 08? 09’s have a very different command unit in them… Hard drive based navigation. But it’s also very similar, so I can’t imagine it would be that hard… I know that E55 people have taken the E63 commands and retro fitted them into 55’s, for whatever reasons…

I am not sure that 09 command would work, CD's are totally different and there is no longer a CD door for 6! 6 go in our 1 slots at the top and that other area doesn't open at all! (and the ladies wear always so impressed by that.) What do the people who convert there commands do about warranty and stuff like that?

My 05 E55 has the overview with crosshairs also.

The 2009 COMAND is a major improvement, btw. I drove an older E the other day and it's a big difference.

I can't remember if the '09 will work, there's been threads on this. PM Steve MBenzNL.
