Very nice!!! Im close to your mileage... I have 144,000. Runs strong and smooth. We should easily see 200k. I change my engine oil every 3-4k. May be a little over kill, but When you pull a valve cover off and everything is spotless and looks like it has 10 miles on it...Its well worth it. In my opinion... I will never ever go 10-13k on oil. 6000 at the most.

one of my friends reached about 600,000 km in his modded E55k 2004
and another one with 500,000km in his modded E55K 2004 also
and another one reached 350,000km in his 2009 C63 modded.
no major issues for gear and engine both cars, worst thing happened fuel pumps failed and replaced.

I've had mine for a little over 1.5 years bought it with 80k now at 112,000. Car runs very strong still. I changed what looked like original plugs at 100k. All plugs looked great burning clean. All fluids changed fuel system flush, engine flush etc. I have had to change bother idler pulleys, spark plugs and now my supercharger bearing is going south. Happy I have the EC pulley and tune waiting to go. Will replace bearing on original pulley just in case I feel the need to switch back for SMOG if I need to.. I think the cars are pretty solid if you have an ear and an eye to catch any minor problems that might be festering unnoticed before they stop you in your tracks. My main fear is air suspension because I don't know caca about that. But with the help here I'm positive I could figure it out

166,000 miles on mine!
Problems:
Sbc pump replacement
Fuel sender leak
Radiator replacement (antifreeze pouring out of trans cooler line
Leak in trans connector plug
Entire transmission but I think it was ok, misdiagnosed supercharger jerk instead
Supercharger jerking, getting used replacement supercharger & clutch
That's about it! Engine is still running awesome!

2008 with 28,200 Miles and no problems, all work done under TSB and preventative maintenance.
To own the largest displacement motor offered in a Mercedes since the late 60s, Priceless.

156,000 here. Mine is a W220 S600TT with a Eurocharged tune. The usual ABC and coilpack issues, but that's about it. Daily driver and no warranty!

28k miles? What's the point of posting in this thread with such a low mileage car?! Of course it's not going to have problems at that young age...

I have a '2004 E55 with 130,000 miles on it, I will keep it forever. Cost is not important. I also have the Fuel tank smell. I just never add more than 13 gallons when empty. Problem solved.

Is the worst over?
2007 with 45k miles, bought it in 2010 with 25k miles. I'm debating if I should keep it for the long haul. Here's what I've experienced since ownership:
Fortunately, I haven't had to pay out of pocket for any of the above and my 3rd party extended warranty is still good till 2016. I don't mind paying for the normal preventative maintenance stuff (oil, oil filter, transmission fluid/filter change, brakes, etc.) but it's the stuff that breaks for no apparent reason. Especially when the car is babied (maintained diligently, properly cleaned, sheltered in a garage, not driven hard(only once in a while)).
What do you guys think? Is the worst over? I'm really concerned if there will be another fuel leak. Should I keep her or trade her in for a GT-R?
- Fuel sender unit replaced TWICE within 2yrs due to stinky fuel leaks
- Camshaft adjuster replaced due to intermittent rattles at cold startup
- Windshield washer fluid/pump replaced due to a leak
- Glove compartment damper broke (it just dropped down when opened)
- Sounds like the breather valve/hose (also known as PCV) is malfunctioning (can potentially be covered under the emissions warranty once it actually fails and triggers a CEL)
