Thumbs down Extended Warranty stoprepairbills.com

Trying to do some research for the cost of an extended warranty.
Submit the info and this sales guy called me back in 10 mins.
Very unprofessional, I can hear he was either chewing gums or eating his lunch while talking on the phone.

He offer me 5 years / 100k for $2893 which is not too bad for the price. But it seems like the coverage is limited, only the major stuffs like engine, tranny....etc. I asked him to email me a details info on what is covered. He said he can't. I need to purchase the warranty first. I kept asking him question and he just wanted me to buy it immediately through the phone.

Then I guess he notice that I wasn't ready to give him my credit card and still shopping around, he hung up on me.

Nice job http://stoprepairbills.com/

His name is Mick 1-800-650-0423 ext 2221 LOL.

Does anyone have good suggestion on extended warranty for our AMG vehicles?

OMG, what a customer service.

imho, get the ELW from MB. Dealers sell them and you can shop around. There's a woman (Lisa?) who has a good thing going on MB warranties. She discounts them thru her dealership. Can't recall where she is, somewhere near Davis or Chico maybe?

Anyway, do a search on the non-AMG W211 forum and you'll see some really long threads on shopping for warranties.

most members here swear by Chrysler service contracts. With my MB ELW running out soon, I've been on the phone Todd at Chrysler (many members here have gone through him). Unfortunately, Chrysler can't sell warranties in CA right now b/c they are waiting for their CA name change amendment to go through. Damn CA sec. of state!!!

Wow.I didn't know this. I was all set to get the warranty from Todd since I am 4000 miles from the cap. Is there any time frame. I suppose I shouldn't drive too much until it's taken care of

Easy Care is also a very good aftermarket warranty company, and it can be purchased at the dealer. They are very good about covering faulty parts... I had over $37k in warranty work on my old car!

+1 on Chrysler Service Contracts, and dealing with Todd. My SA mentioned he's never experienced a warranty company that's easier to deal with for both claim coverage and prompt payments. Highly recommend them.

There was a good article in one of the car mag's this month or last, speaking about how most service contract companies are an absolute scam - they did some "investigative journalism" pretending to be an interested customer... some of the conversations they reported were pretty incredible.

Most of the warranty companies you see on TV must be scams (Get Mogi, Get Certus, US Fidelis, Stop Repair Bills). If you search for them there are tons of complaints and if you look them up on the BBB website they have F ratings. Warranty Direct is good (A+ rating) but they don't cover AMGs (my neighbor's friend has a sweet CLS 55 AMG and couldn't get covered by them). Make sure you get the contract to read before you buy so you can see what's covered and what's not. Its too much money to throw away. Use your AMEX card so you have better support if you need to dispute the charge and cancel the policy.
