Yeah, assuming we have the same gear ratio through the driveline, and the dyno is done in 3rd, you should not hit rev limiter as the shift to 4th occurs around 140mph

Did not. I usually don't run next to my car while driving at the same time

But seriously, nope, and if it wouldn't be raining right now like the world comes to an end here in San Diego, I would go outside and check it out! I wanted to replace the impact strips with Euro impact strips anyways but I never found the right part number to order them. I think those side markers just look gay!

But what I like a lot is that in RoW when one unlocks the car the fog lights, the city lights and the tail lights turn on and turn off when one opens one of the front doors.

True Mackhack. Also the disabled side markers is no doubt pretty neat. RoW = Bidget Euro Impact strips IMO. I tinted mine dark and will probably spray over the tint

I thought about buying stealth lights and clear marker but taking that completely out sounds even better to me.

Bidget means what? *scratch my head*

Just as an FYI, setting a ROW car to "USA" results in loads of "light out" errors, since they don't exist! Interestingly enough, you can "fit" and configure US options to ROW cars with them set to "USA", and they still work fine with the car set back to "ROW".

There are about 10 country / region specific settings, and one "generic" - ROW == Rest of World.

Hey UK, I can't see a legit reason why one would change variant coding RoW to USA. IMHO RoW has the cool features. I can't even think of one single one in USA why I would want it in USA again. But I'm open for discussion and to learn!

I never had any issue to connect my C4 to my CLS AMG, but only with my V Classe 220 CDI...
Problem solved now
It was due to bad wire connection at the back of the car plug...

Now, I'm looking for the "varcodestring" correspondig to "Fahrzeug - Code, vmax = 300 Km/h".
This is necessary to add it if you want to have this new limit appearing in the list.

If someone having this value could share it, it would be highly appreciated

I commit to send a kind of basket including a collection of luxuous and finest products from France

I have yet to figure out how to turn on the side marker lights with the coding set to ROW. I can turn them on individually through direct actuation, but they will not stay on once you exit DAS.

I'm very new here, and am not quite understanding what these non ROW cars have besides a speed limiter?

:-) TPMS is not an option for early model non-US cars. One of the *very* few options available for US and not ROW. In general, I agree 100% - ROW is a better place to be! :-)

I don't have the bit settings handy, but I did discover a couple of them through trial and error. I'll see if I can dig them up, it's been a while!

Almost all MB's - regardless of end destination - have vMax set. For the R171 as an example, Parktronic was never available stateside, neither were folding mirrors, or ATA interior motion sensors. Just like in ROW, SAT radio is not available, TPMS is not available on some models and years. Another example would be side markers - my UK front bumper is nice and smooth, while the US has orange side markers.

Netherlands disables navigation input with speed > 2kp/h, Gulf States sets a soft vMax at 120 kph, and setting to "Japan" does all manner of weird stuff!

A look into NAVI and you can enable the navigation input with speeds > 2km/h

That is interesting that TPMS wasn't available on early ones in RoW.

The Japanese are weird anyways Maybe the settings just match their style and behavior

True, but remember country specific settings override custom ones. So if you switch to Netherlands to - for example - try and figure out the bit-masks for "enable interior ATA sensor with top down", you end up overwriting everything else. They can still be over ridden, obviously, but it becomes a pain in the **** to remember what you have to undo.

I drove around without my mirrors folding in for a week because I forgot to code the damn things back "on" before leaving home!

Any chance of getting a master list of what does what, how to do it and where it's located?

Not many share that. Most of us had to learn it the hard way. At least that's how I learned it since I'm working with it for the last 3 years or so.
