I was at the dealer today and asked if the tech could lower my car using SDS. The advisor asked the tech who said that using SDS (Star) to lower my E55 would work, but that I would get error messages due to the ride height sensors.... Is this true?

No ... not true.
No error messages at all.

Is it possible in Star to disable the malfunction message "Headlt. Cornering" ? The repair bill on my e55 is close to $2000.00 to fix this small feature and I would prefer not to be reminded of it everytime I get in the car.

Thanks so much.

Hi Guys. Quick question. I printed this guide out for lowering the car with SDS and sent it to my SA. I am dropping the car off this morning to hopefully have it lowered. I would only like to lower it by a small amount possibly an inch. How low have you all gone with yours and what are the settings that you recommend using in Star? Thanks!

Well, after 3 days in the service dept, the techs said that they couldn't lower the car. They set the car to the ride height defaults, aligned the car, then lowered it and they say that they could not get the car to align properly when it was lowered. I guess I will just have to be happy that I can pick up my car and drive it for once. Fingers crossed I go more than a week before I have to take it back in.

I spoke with the service manager and he said that they had the car on the rack with the ride height set to default. He explained that as they lowered the car, the alignment would go out of specs. He did say that they aren't experts at lowering since it is an "unusual request". I will put my lowering on hold. -Anyone in St. Louis have a source?...apparently Plaza Motors can't do it.

If you want to lower, go with Lowering Links or ELM. Links will run you $300 and ELM more around $1000.. Mixed feelings on the links, but a lot of people run them with no issues. If you are handy, you could make a set for about $20...

So I read thru all 8 pages and did not see it...
Do I have to realign my e63 after lowering it?
Do the voltage settings as noted earlier for the E55, apply same for the E63?

My local perf shop just acquired STAR program and we will using my car as a guinea pig. We will also do the other things noted:
Seat belt chime
155 Limiter remover
Key fob chime

Thx for the helpful thread guys!

If you drop it alittle then you dont have to . If you slam it down a good 1 1/2 or 2 inches then you should, its not an absolute but you will have poor tire wear. Not that you can rotate them anyway or you will keep your rear tires that long with the power this thing puts down ,but if racking the miles up. this will help. the E63 has completely different suspension so I dont think the E55 specs will be what you want on your E63.

Sasha: no idea, we have not dived into it yet. My car is in storage right now. It's winter time here in MN.

Mike: ahh, good to know that the 55 an 63 are different. I will have to find the proper voltages then. I believe another forum member has lowered their 63 via star, I'll find who it was. Thanks for the advice!

Buick T-Type, 70 cuda, S65 and a very FAST Truck!
I am trying to lower my car via star and am having some problems. I have followed the instructions the best I can on the e55 page but the S65 w220 seems to have some different steps. I can get the car to lower by pushing the appropriate function keys but it will not save the values if you lower it more than a half an inch, even though the angle values entered are with in spec. Then if you do lower it star makes you perform a load adjustment test that once completed puts the car right back to the original height.

Can some one please give me a quick tutorial on how to lower on S or CL via star?

It also does not list the ride height voltage value range like on the E55 cars, it just gives the angle spec. Does anyone know what. Voltage values are acceptable? It seems to fail below around 2.2 volts.

Thank you.

For those of you working on CL's and S classes (W215's and 220's), please see this thread for issues I have been having.

If anyone has some pointers for CL's and S's on lowering and the 10C mod please let me know.

no extra sbc functions can be added in DAS dev mode. Tank Info can be added.

4. active cornering fog lights
5. Alarm beep on activation
5. Seat belt alarm deactivate
6. flashing brake light on hard brake\flashing hazards

I will add locations in star for these functions over the next few days after i have confirmed them!

Any other functions which should be in the list, add away!

Hi,

I found the appropriare option for V-MAX with the DAS SIM... Thanks

But I would like someone to confirm there is no need to power the C4...
Actually, my C4 does not power ON when connected to ODB plug...
I tried to power it with a 12V power supply using the wire attached to RS232 cable, and LED light is turning on but still have a "voltage" error message when trying to enable connection with control unit...

Is the C4 supposed to be powered by the car when plugged into ODB plug ?
If yes, what is that female Jack plug attached to RS232 cable ? Is it to power a touchscreen or a laptop ?

Thanks for your help !!
