Keep on checking the rear toe links from time time if you don't have the updated bolts with a finer thread they will tend to get loose.

Thanks - - - good info. I will recheck them, although I did use LocTite during the install.

used 2008 uneven from mods?

Hey all, Just bought a used 2008 e63 35k miles from a used car dealer and after notice the front left side is lower than right. Took it to a real merc dealer who said he needs to put it on the alignment rack for 200 to check but tires are worn uneven and inside almost bald.

After reading most of these threads I am now wondering if the previous owner improperly lowered the car using a mod... it looks low but not sure.

Should I take it to the Merc dealer or independent Benz guy like AGA German Auto Service in Pasadena, Ca? Any thoughts?

Thanks

Hey guys I read through this whole thread and its full of good information, but I could not find my answer. I have a star knockoff that was working fine when I first got it, but then I never used it for a years time. I went to scan my car today and I got this CAL 503 ERROR?

Anybody have any idea what this is and the solution to it? I would really appreciate any help; I have a SRS light that I want to diagnose.

Hi Guys/Gals

I just got a C3 "for educational purposes"...::wink::

I've managed to get all the software installed Xentry/DAS, WIS etc. but have yet to try to connect to the car. I hope it will be relatively painless.

I came across this thread that may be useful to those that haven't found it yet. Its a full writeup (PDFs) of installing/using a Chinese DAS.

Aleks or others,

I used the 3.5 and -1.1 inclination settings on my 04 E55 last night. I was sitting in the car at the time. The drivers side came out great but the passenger side is about .3" higher front and rear.

I have read all 23 pages of this thread and as I understand it I am going to have to play with the inclination angles to get it to even out. Correct me if I am wrong.

My big question is (as stupid as it might be) in what manner am I to change the inclination angle to lower it. I know I can do a trial and error but I figured most on here would have the answer.

So if I go from 3.5 to 3.6 in the front is that going to raise or lower it?
If I go from -1.1 to-1.2 in the rear is that going to raise or lower it?

Thank you much in advance?

Coming from memory:

FL 1.94, FR 2.71, Rear 2.67

E55
Right side is always higher vs front left on stock cars.

I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a menu to reset all parameters to factory defaults? My car has had an issue for some time now (Speedtronic/Cruise). When I scan, there is no malfunction but when I try to activate cruise it gives me this error.

I am thinking it thinks there is Distronic module installed and not finding it. If I could just reset everything and go from there, that would be good. The only things I have done are set to ROW, disable seatbelt warning, added parktronic and raised speed limiter to 300. I have tried backing those out but still have an issue. Tried clearing any codes already. I don't use cruise very often but just don't like stuff not working without knowing why.

Thanks!

I have been struggling using my trusty old HP laptop to run DAS It is super slow because it runs a virtual machine of DAS... it would take 5 minutes or more just to boot the virtual machine! I have tried a couple of times to migrate to a new laptop but the newer ones don't have serial. I have tried several USB to serial adapters but the only one that works is the FTDI one mentioned by someone earlier in this thread. I then fought with a couple of settings to get it to work. I thought I would do some screenshots and mini-tutorial on how to make this work. I am using a Macbook Air, but some of the instructions apply to windows machines.

1. Install the FTDI driver Latest drivers here: http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm
2. Install VMWARE - Mine was VMWARE Fusion
3. Open Virtual Machine file. I recommend copying it to your local drive if you have space. It is about 65GB

4. Start the Virtual Machine
5. Plug in the FTDI cable and you will see the screen below:

6. Select connect to Windows. You may need to install the drivers in Windows. Mine installed automatically without installing drivers on the virtual machine.

7. In the virtual machine select control panel -> system as shown below:

8. Go to Ports (Com & LPT) and select communications ports and disable all active serial ports.

9. Select the USB com port. Go to advanced and set the port to port 2.

Special thanks to Shardul, Benz-O-Rama and the dude that gave the link to the FTDI USB-Serial converter!

Here is a video of it running ... I did not pull up DAS itself since I was not connected to the car, but you can see it is fast. This is actual speed not time lapsed.

Would this also work for lowering the 2012 ML350 (W166)? The local dealer is saying it cannot be done...

Probably can't be done because it doesn't have Air Suspension maybe?

It should work but you would need a late 2012 or 2013 version of the software...

Cheers. Should it be presumed that if their version of Star can be used on my ML and they are able to perform diagnostics using it then it must be a recent enough version?
