Have you tried programming keys with it on a W211? As far as I know, there is no way to do this without removing NEC chip from EIS. It would be great if this could do it.

I see the maxisys pro can reprogram mercedes ecu's. I assume this is only with factory updated files?

Can it export files for you to modify in another program or this is not possible?

Is it possible to do a service bleed, new SBC installed, and not have the star system to bleed it? Or is there no way around it. Also can you adjust idle speed for the engine?

SBC is expensive .. why even risk it? Advise you to find someone with one or get one yourself. Mine has paid for itself many times over.

Developer mode is used in the factories by Daimler, never by the dealers or their official shops. You can also ignite the airbags with DEV mode, its quite dangerous.
I heard you can render a car or its ECUs useless if you play around and don't know what you do.
Dev Mode is activated by another Start Key for Xentry/DAS.
Get a SDConnect if you want do Diagnose newer cars than 2012, since they have a new BUS system instead of CAN-BUS.

Yep that is correct and typically the developer mode is in German, so you would need to be fluent in German or have someone there with you who is.

Some questions on my star. 1-- My system will no longer recognize my car and I have to manually put the info in now. 2-- I can no longer adjust idle speed as the option for that does not exist Also I have a DAS and Xentry icon, They are the same correct? I don't know why there would be two separate icons for this. Also just noticed that none of my Variant codeing will display and it tells me that ONE code can not be found and all the codes where there before. {Looking at say EGR or AIR PUMP} Thanks for any help

Well it seems that my computer or multiplexer is not reading the car and will not link up. Even if I am not plugged into the DLC connector it still reads the same so either the laptop is at fault or the multiplexer. I am leaning to the computer. Anyone run into this? It was working great until a few days ago but maybe some how I did something since I am still learning on it. All I have done is an idle correction and 10c mod. Any help would be great. Thanks

Do you have a chinese made DAS? Do you have a bettery tender attached to the battery while you are connected? If the battery falls below a certain voltage the system stops and this is what I experience on my unit. Restart your computer.

I always have the tender hooked up every time so I know voltage is good. Was poking around all night checking com port and resetting so today I will try it again after work.

I always just start my car and have it idle when using my STAR unit, I've never had any issues, especially with voltage

* Chinese Multiplexers have been known to fail and cut off communication/ gone buggy, you haven't gone and updated the Computer or STAR Software have you?

Are you using an XP HDD on a Dell or are you using a Memory Stick

Is the Multiplexer the original version 3 or version 4 (wireless) - apparently Version 4 units are flaky

Good luck with getting it working again

Well I got it up dated and it works now but it will not read the car, meaning the VIN will not show up..... I can still get in and make changes but no vin verification. Very strange.

That could be a EIS that has a partial failure. Happened to me. EIS had to be replaced.

OK let me ask you this....is DAS and XENTRY basicaly the same thing? In DAS I can manualy put in the VIN, XENTRY I can not.
Also I can not seem to find the SBC counter. Do you NEED to have a developer mode for this. I can find an actuations counter but the numbers are way to high to be correct.
Other than these issues I can navigate just about everything so far .

Jnash I will look into the ignition switch...thanks.

Ok, you got a Eurocharged tune and have just purchased an 82mm TB/Kit - then you will need to get hold of Jeremy/Eurocharged again after fitting to get a new tune/flash

As for the TB blade re-adaptation do a quick search and you will find how to do it without STAR, although......in STAR it says to turn the ignition on for 60 seconds then turn it off for NO LESS than 10 seconds and it will be recalibrated

STAR set-ups can be purchased through vendors here or else I got mine on aliexpress and bought the laptop separately and have had no issues, you will need the mulltiplexer and cables and HDD with the software and also the Dell laptop to run it on (version dependant)

I suggest if you are modifying your E55 or planning on doing the maintenance yourself is to get a STAR setup

Good luck
