This question was asked before but I don't see an answer. Can you just purchase the Star software and use your own laptop?

Alignment
Have any of you performed the lowering via Star in your garage, and if so, did you get an alignment immediatly?

I see the "correct" way in on an alignment rack, however I am guessing there are more than a few DIY guys here..

I did the usa stye with buzzer mod yesterday to my uk w211 e220 2006
it makes the beeps as it should but it is very quiet. You can hardly hear it.

Is everyones like this?

also for the power fold mirrors on remote lock

My mechanic got to left door control module
and then it said someething along the lines of auto mirror dim and fold on parking. it said not fitted, and im sure all you had to do was change it to fitted but my mechanic says he is not going to take the risk..
Can anyone confirm how to do this mod.

Thanks
Jazz

If you back one screen out, you should see a volume percent. Mine was only 20 after I changed to usa buzzer. I set it at 40 and it's just about right.

If you want a complete DAS with fantastic support, get it direct from the source http://ecartool.com/

They include EVERYTHING from multiplexers to all cables for all models. This is the real deal!. It comes from Taiwan. The wiz-kids have cracked all the DB security and if you have a problem they will correct it online with TeamViewer. Just don't mess with the system as it is very sensitive to MS updates and stuff and don't add additional software like Firefox or JAVA. DB actually uses a modifided XP OS and if it ain't right it shuts down DAS.

Support is the key word. I bought a cheap ($580 shipped) system with multiplexer, all cables, and ibm preloaded T30 harddrive. XP came up nicely and added a few native system drivers and then, my DAS wouldn't load becase the version was dated. Got around this problem by backdating computer time. Next problem - no communication with car- was tougher (dreaded Cal 872 error). Could have bought solution from John at JCRecording for $40 but plugged away at Digital Kaos until I found the solution between the lines of some posts--change 1 lousy line in the Das/bin/cal.ini file. Only then did I have a working system. Then I ran the Ceasar test and had 1 anomaly--3100 can error. Heard around that this is a hardware error most often. Took apart multiplexer and put her under the scope. Surface mount chips were hand soldered--but not too bad. Found a few instances of smd resistors with one end tilted and some very cold looking solder joint in some of the edge connector pins. Now it's 100 % and I have to say..what a great tool!!! but expect some difficulties unless your luck is better than mine. Oh, and support from vendor??? Ha, Ha, within hours of the end of the e-bay auction, all traces of the transaction had vanished. And e-mails to him? He and his engineers are "studying the problem and will have a solution soon" Ha ha.
