Quick question, when trying to activate the alarm unlock / lock beep in my 05, I am getting a an error. It says error 9078: communication to siren and the code could not be carried out. Looks like someone brought this up 6 years ago early in this thread but there was no solution posted. Looking for any help with this. Thanks!

The battery in the siren may be dead, in which case you need to replace the siren. It is located in the front driver's side(US) wheel well right behind the tire.

No, just hit panic, and the car is quiet but blinking!

EDIT: Just ordered a new alarm siren for $101 shipped on eBay new. These things retail for like $190!!!! Insane.

Will get the new one in when its in. Thanks for the help.

Guys I need a hand. I'm trying to reraise my car with Star. I'm following the first post on the first page. I get the confirmation message at the end and looks good. Unfortunately the second I press the raise button in the center console then repress it to redrop it drops back to its initially very low setting.

What gives !? Can I not use the raise height button afterwards ?

To Kahn, The MB Starshop C3 is based in China, no difference.

The Xentry will accomplish everything covered in this post +. It is a matter of getting familiar with its use.

Quote: Machack, where'd you buy your DAS from? Would one recommend buying the China clone version or the ones posted in the previous page going for $500 and $600 odd?
I am in need of a diagnostic module for my W209 as I needed to repair my SRC light but somehow after 10 months of ownership and having vacuumed the car the other day, I somehow put it off. I need to see what the CEL is that comes on now and then though I am sure it has something to do with my cats being removed as well as my parktronic no longer working.

I did consider an MBII Icarsoft one but now I am confused and think it best to save up and buy the legit tool.
Maybe mbstarshop is worth to have a try. I read this buyer review from their users: http://www.mbstarshop.com/info/star-...oncouk-38.html

It works I would not recommend for commercial business use though. I picked this link from benzworld.org and the user posted a lot of positive information about its use.
I Corrected seat movement and AC request interrupt. Also SRS resets. More to come. on my own.

Best, Gator No guarantees but it works

Silly question, what is the benefit of lowering the car?

Nothing. Most do it to make the car look cooler, to annoy others behind them when they can't enter/exit a driveway and have to use angles and what not to get over the curb bc it's so damn low. Done wrong will make your ride stiffer than riding a horse. If you don't have access to Romess to calibrate AIRmatic afterwards vs. entering some fake values just to satisfy DAS is nothing but the wrong way.

High Speed Fan Temps
I just had a shop do the 10c fan mod for me. Cost me a whole $30 to do. I was happy with that. In Wisconsin i figured it wouldn't come on much other then really really warm days or if I am driving to spirited.

I read some more and say that someone said their Eurocharged tune had already lowered it. Well, I already had a Eurocharged tune. They confirmed that it was 5c lower with the tune.

I am trying to figure out when my fan should come on stock so I can compare to when it kicks on now. The highest coolant temp I saw on the way to work was 92c. I am guessing the fan comes on above 100 from the factory. I just want to make sure that the shop didn't go from the 5 lower and move the temp up to 5 higher than norm. Also, if it is 15c lower than stock that is probably to much. But I can't confirm till I know the factory temp when the high speed fan would kick in. Please assist!

Thanks and "DANG"...

Only if it was easy to install a secondary "standalone" a/c compressor.

Use case and reason for the inquiry is Killer Chiller.

If anyone has any ideas I am open to be the guinea pig!

Hey guys,

I have an ML63 2009, since I bought it, it came without the tpms sensors, and it was constantly giving the "sensors not found or something" message, so through DAS I disabled the sensors; message gone.

Fast forward two years later, I decided to buy the sensors for my car, brand new, OEM and in the 433mhz frequency, so I go to DAS, enable the sensors again and I immediately get the "TPMS inoperative" message, ran diagnostics: nothing... tried disabling the tpms again: nothing... not I am stuck, I can't figure out how to reset the sensors to run properly.

Funny story, I recently replaced the wheels on my G55 and it was giving me the same message, took it to the dealer, they resetted something and it began working again, but it was $150 to do that...

Any suggestions how to do it through DAS??

I have researched this extensively on google, but found no useful information.

Help PLEASE!

Check your user's manual of how to activate/calibrate your new TPMS sensors after replacement. No need for Star Diagnosis to do that

W211 suspension calibration
Quote: Nothing. Most do it to make the car look cooler, to annoy others behind them when they can't enter/exit a driveway and have to use angles and what not to get over the curb bc it's so damn low. Agreed with caveats. I just calibrated the suspension on my W211 E55; the rear was far too low after rebuilding the rear suspension and installing Arnott air springs; camber was -2.5 degrees each side and rear was noticeably lower than the front.

If you do not have access to a Romess, use an inclinometer app downloaded to your smart phone. Front inclinometer measurements are taken with your measuring device laid across the "nubs" on the control arm. Rear inclinometer measurements are taken with the measuring device laid directly on the rear drive axle (aka "stub shafts").

FWIW, I ended up raising the rear of the car ~1 1/2" and brought the camber back to -1.7 degrees each side. I also raised the right front 7/8". I confirmed the voltages were in the acceptable range, next screen entered the angle values I obtained using the app on my smart phone (3.1 degrees left front, 3.1 degrees right front, -1.2 degrees rear axles), system programmed new values, all well with the car.

Doing this eliminated a "rocking" motion the car displayed in a diagonal direction (left rear to right front). Calibrating the suspension sounds much more difficult than it really is.

This guy's post convinced me to go for it (but using my smart phone):
http://danirangelov.blogspot.com/201...tic-level.html

There are Youtube videos explaining how to use the Romess inclinometer. My cell phone is just an inexpensive version (albeit not as nice!).

Remember, "nubs" on front control arms, directly on the rear axle for the rear suspension.

I have done this, but it doesn't say anything about "after replacement", only regular re-calibration.

That should be it though. Unless you didn't enable TPMS in all control units and all sub sections of them.

Hoping to add an AC Compressor Diagnose|Test|Replace DIY to this section
Hello everyone,

I have a STAR w/dev mode. I am looking for assistance diagnosing my faulty airconditioning. I was thinking posting the results of our findings with STAR here would help others with the same/similar problems. If this is not the best method to approach this issue my apologies.

Problem
I had a cracked AC Condensor when I purchased the vehicle at auction I could charge the system and get it to cool and slowly it would bleed off and blow hot air.

Attempted solution 1:
The condensor and dryer were replaced, I was a dumba$$ and think I killed the compressor driving to get it professionally filled (2.4miles) I am pretty sure I killed the compressor opening the system then driving it even with AC off.

Proposed solution 2
Diagnose failed compressor etc with STAR I have new spare compressor etc on hand with AC tools.

I would like to do the AC work one last time with help and get it right. 3rd day above 97 degrees in the Carolina's

If this warrants a new thread I will begin one, please advise.
-Will
