So I have a AC gauge set, recovery tank system, vacuum pump,r134a about 3lbs,new OEM dryer, OEM factory expansion valve (yea the aluminum block I wasted $50 bucks on that only prolly needs orings) OEM Denso AC Compressor. I will do the work and properly vacuum charge the system. I will add the required oil amount to the compressor per Denso/MB spec and report back once the install is complete and she is or is not blowing me cold again.

Recommend you start your own thread on this. This is not an AC thread ... Go back to basics for AC ...

1. Vacuum down your system
2. Check it holds vacuum for 20+ minutes with gauges
3. Fill with R134a with AC on
4 watch the gauges and make sure the pressure is in range. When the right amount of R134a is reached the compressor will kick on and the pressure gauges will cycle up and down as the compressors kicks on and off.

Some AC compressors come pre-oiled so sometimes no need to add ... Just check with whomever you bought the compressor from

Done this on multiple cars with no issues.

Documenting work here,

https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/...ce-needed.html

thanks for confirming I am overthinking the issue as I pretty much thought.

The compressor intermittently turning on was throwing me off in a big way. It was probably just eating itself alive at the time.

If you have Star/DAS you should also have DAS-Sim. It will step you through the process in simulation mode. It's a great training tool.

Unfortunately the image that I downloaded only has DAS/XENTRY. It doesn't have sim, WIS etc.

Yes it does. It's part of the system. Every system has it.

How to calibrate Airmatic Suspension

A brief overview of calibrating the suspension on my W211 using an inclinometer app on my smart phone in lieu of a Romess inclinometer. I did not have a photo of calibrating the front suspension, only a photo of calibrating the rear. In the photo showing the rear voltage value at 2.34 volts, I was under the car confirming the rear axles were at a -1.2 degrees. The original value was close to 3 volts with the rear of the car 1 1/2" lower and the rear axles were measuring at a -2.8 degrees.

Care to show me how to execute that SIM program for DAS? There is no icon on the desktop and I'm not sure if it would be in a folder?

I need to know where the throttle body adaption/reset is and how to turn on the intercooler pump for testing on the low charge cooling circuit for a SL65.

It's just a Windows machine, you are searching for a program.

Bottom left of Screen

Start

Find or Search

Select files or folders

"DAS SIM" without quotes in the field should bring it up if it is on the system. Play all you want and find what you need and teach your self is the point...your in simulation mode self learning.

I am going to see if I can locate what you are hunting for

On my System I have "Xentry Simulation" I do not have a "DAS Simulation" I do have a "SimDas" pretty sure that is what BBirdwell means

My simdas.exe under the path F:\Programme\DAS\bin

The path in your system may vary. My build DVD12/2015 C3 with Dev mode

BBird is spot on with his info, sure he will chime in and clarify when he has time. So long as he doesn't feel like he is playing too much of a babysitter lol

Is it possible to check if the high/low fuel pumps are operating correctly and at the right pressure or PSI with Star/DAS? Or is this something that needs to be done with a mechanical gauge?

Hoping to get some help:

Got the Xentry printout and the main odometer reading and the First/Last occurrence reading for Control unit 'Fuel Pump' are way off. Is this an indication of a potential rollback?

If your odometer reads let's say 100.000 miles and first occurrence was after the 100.000 then yes.

There's nothing magical about it, or developer mode if you read German but you can screw things up severely. You rarely, if ever, need to go into developer mode to do most "mods" if you have offline programming enabled. I run a real STAR C4, but there's numerous chinese companies that sell multiplexors of quality. Read reviews. Most of the chipsets or boards used are manufacturered in china anyway, even in the real Mercedes systems.

Mack is helpful in some respects to people ... I've talked to him on other forums attempting to diagnosis certain issues, and he and I are on the same technical forum for Xentry which I assume is where most of his information comes from. The problem is Mack keeps a lot of information close to the vest, likely because he makes a business out of it, which is contrary to the purpose of these forums. I remember him asking me for an 06 firmware version for NTG1 which I sent, then not responding when I asked him for his "08" version he supposedly received from his "friend" at Harman/Becker... when in reality it came from MHH, and where I received mine from in the same thread he downloaded it.

Selling Xentry and multiplexors is very illegal though, by the way. You shouldn't **** people off when you're doing that on a very public forum.

But since Mack is being a tool in this latest series of posts, and I'm relatively new here vs Benzworld, I'm happy to tell anyone how to do the following mods through Xentry for free. Just PM me.

When I get the chance, I'll do write ups by section. It's not magic. It's just knowledge. Share it.

Can a star system update an NTG4 Comand system? I see a few updates mentioned in a few bulletins but it looks like MB doesn't sell Comand update CD/DVDs like they used to on the W211 and you have to go to the dealer.

I'm super excited! I just purchase a C4 system with dell 6410 laptop. Has ssd, 4gb mem, so it should be quicker than a dell630.

I got it because I want to code my 2009 E350 for factory bi-xenons when I get them. Then I started reading and found more information, VIM, fuel remaining...etc.

But on the basic does one power up the Mux or does it get power from the car? Does the car have to be ON (Engine running) or just 2nd click of the key "ON".

On to things that are turned on: (IS this information correct?)

Remaining Fuel:
Inf & Comm -> Instr. Custer -> Diag. to Plant Spec. -> Control UnitAdapt. -> Variant Coding -> Read Coding and change....

Set TANKINFO in REICHWEITENBILD to ENABLE
VIM Enable:
In Mercedes Star diagnostic MB SD Connect C4 DAS Developer mode :
Audio, Video, Navigation und Telematik ->F3
a screen might pop up with all kind of settings, ignore and press F2
New screen with ESD warning ->F3 COMAND /AUDIO -AUDIO 50 oder COMAND ->F3
Entwicklungsdaten ->F3
Steuergerate-Anpassungen ->F3 Steuergerate-Anpassungen (Variantencoderierung) ->F3
HU Parameter ->F3 scroll down to line: Driving speed is more than 0 kph and
Driving speed is more than 10 kph and BOTH enable them and ->F3 to confirm coding
Now you be able to watch DVD/TV when car is in motion
Brake Flash Emergency:
Control Units -> Body -> Rear SAM -> Dev. Data -> Control Unit Adapt. -> Control Unit Adapt. (Variant Coding)

Scroll to: Parameter Notbremsung, in the submenu you will have two more options: select zugelassen (enable)

Think the first choice is flashing brake and second is hazard lights, enable one or the other or both...

Show date in cluster:
Enable Date in the Cluster

Control Units -> Inf. & Comms. -> IC - Instr. cluster -> Diag. to plant spec -> Control unit adapt. -> Control unit adapt. ( Variant coding ) -> Variantkodierung Werkseinstellungen: Set "Datumsanzeige Grundbildebene" to aktiv. (active)

- Then reboot the cluster

Do we have a write up of how to disable the seatbelt annoying warning?

One thing I do want to ask is that setting the car to ROW disables the sidemarker lights, but how do you go and turn them back on?

I'm located in VA/DC, so if anyone wants help or to do things via STAR/DAS let me know and I'll help once I get mine in a week.

Thanks,
Nigel

Not blind. It's not just a push of a button. AIRmatic is tied to many control units. Also don't forget to replace headlights and headlight range adjustment system and a few other parts. I was helping on two conversions this year and it's not fun. If you want to convert to save money, it's gonna be more expensive. Just sell and buy a car that has cool springs already.

Don't forget to tell the DMV of the conversion or its no longer legal to operate the vehicle.

Silly question. I enabled the gallons left in the gas tank. But I can't seem to find where to reboot the cluster? I didn't reboot it but the gallons left in tank showed up. But I would still like to properly do it and know where to reboot it.

Thanks,
-Nigel
